The Department of School Education, Government of Karnataka, has started the RTE Karnataka admission registration 2026-27. Students/parents can apply for the RTE Karnataka admission 2026 from March 16 to April 15, 2026. They can visit the official website at schooleducation.karnataka.gov.in to apply for the RTE admission in Karnataka state. The RTE Karnataka admission final list will be released on April 21, 2026. Students of pre-primary/LKG, or Class 1, are eligible for admission.

Students from categories like Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), SC, ST, OBC, children with disabilities and orphans are eligible for the RTE admission.
A child must be 3 years 5 months to be eligible for the LKG class.
For admission into Class 1, a student must be 5 years old.

Students eligible for the RTE Karnataka admission process 2026-27 can follow the steps below to learn more about how to apply online.
Step 1: Visit the official website at schooleducation.karnataka.gov.in.
Step 2: Click on the “New Registration” link on the homepage.
Step 3: Enter the student's name, date of birth, parent’s mobile number, and other important information.
Step 4: Complete the verification process with the OTP.
Step 5: Create a password and receive the unique application ID.
Step 6: Log in with the credentials.
Step 7: Fill in the RTE Karnataka application form carefully by entering the details in the required fields.
Step 8: Select a class and choose up to three preferred schools from the given list.
Step 9: Scan and upload the required documents.
Step 10: Click on the “Submit” button.
Step 11: Download the form and take a printout of it for future reference.
