Kerala Class 11 admissions in government and aided higher secondary schools are fully centralised. The system is managed by the Directorate of General Education (DGE) through a single-window portal called HSCAP (Higher Secondary Centralised Admission Process). Check the eligibility criteria below.
Academic: Students must have passed the SSLC (Class 10) or an equivalent examination (like CBSE or ICSE) from a recognised board.
Minimum Marks: Students need to secure at least a D+ Grade (or equivalent passing marks) in all subjects.
CBSE Exception: If students are CBSE students intending to choose a combination that includes Mathematics, they must have cleared the Mathematics-Standard level in Class 10 (not Basic).
Age Limit: There is no strict age limit for applying through the centralised system.
Students can submit one centralised application listing their preferences for schools and streams (Science, Commerce, or Humanities). The allocation of seats does not rely solely on the raw marks. It is calculated using a system called WGPA (Weighted Grade Point Average).
The Kerala Class 11 registration fees are Rs 25. Log in to the official single-window portal (hscap.kerala.gov.in). Students submit a single application for all schools within a specific revenue district, selecting their preferred combinations. If a candidate wants to apply to multiple districts, they must submit separate forms for each.
The board releases a dummy or "Trial Allotment." This is a test run to show if they qualify for any of their preferred choices based on current trends. Students are given a 2-3 day window here to completely re-arrange, add, or delete their school/stream options to maximise their chances.
The final selection lists (First, Second, and Third Allotments) are published. If their name appears on a list, they must visit the allotted school within the specified timeframe to secure either permanent admission or a "temporary" slide admission while waiting for a higher preference.
Supplementary / Spot Admission:
If candidates do not secure a seat in the main rounds or miss the initial deadlines, the DGE conducts supplementary registration rounds for any vacant seats remaining across schools.
Students applying for Kerala Class 11 admission through the Higher Secondary Centralised Admission Process (HSCAP) must keep several important documents ready during the registration and admission process. The required documents generally include the
SSLC/Class 10 mark sheet and passing certificate,
Transfer certificate (TC),
Passport-size photographs
Aadhaar card or any valid identity proof.
Students belonging to reserved categories may also need to submit caste or community certificates, income certificates, and other relevant reservation documents. In some cases, schools may ask for migration certificates or nativity certificates, if applicable. Candidates are advised to keep both original documents and photocopies ready at the time of admission confirmation.
