Changes in West Bengal HS Board Exam 2025 - New Rules & Updates

The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) will conduct the WB HS exam from March 3 to March 18, 2025. The West Bengal board has made several changes in the WB HS board exam 2025. Students can visit the official website, wbchse.wb.gov.in, for the latest updates.

List of Changes in West Bengal HS Board Exam 2025

Below, we have mentioned some of the changes made in the West Bengal HS board examination 2025.

West Bengal HS Exam Time

The WB HS Board theory exam for most subjects will be conducted for a duration of 3 hours and 15 minutes (10 am to 1:15 pm), while for vocational subjects, music, visual arts and health and physical education, the exam will be conducted for 2 hours from 10 am to 12 pm.

Usage of electronic devices in the WB HS board examination is prohibited

Students appearing for the West Bengal HS board exam are not allowed to carry mobile phones or any other electronic devices such as bluetooth, wireless headphones, air pods, smart watches etc to the examination hall. If a student carries any of the mentioned items in the examination hall will be disqualified and his/her enrolment will be cancelled by the board.

No leave during WB 12th board examination 2025

The board has denied Child Care Leave (CCL) or any kind of leave to any teaching or non-teaching staff during the WB HS board examination. Leave will be allowed only in exceptional circumstances such as medical emergencies or maternity leave. However, the teacher/staff must apply for the leave through the Managing Committee to the concerned Regional Offices of the Council.

Suspension of all the classes of the Primary Section that is situated in the same premise as HS board examination venue

The board has suspended all the classes in the Primary Section at all Integrated Primary schools of West Bengal which is situated near the premises of the WB HS board examination venue till the examination is over. However, this does not apply to the primary schools that are not situated near the same premise as the HS board examination venue.

Regional Offices and Examination Section of Head Offices to remain open till March 2, 2025

As per the official notice, four Regional Offices and the Examination Sections of Head Offices will be kept open even on all holidays, including Saturdays, Sundays or any kind of holiday from February 22 to March 2, 2025, so that the board can perform various works related to the WB HS board examination by visiting the respective offices.

Admit card distribution date

The distribution camp distributed the WB HS board admit card on February 7, 2025. It was the responsibility of the Head of the Institute to collect the admit card and other materials related to the WB HS board examination from the distribution camp.

Practical and Project Marks submission date extended

The board extended the last date to submit the WB HS board practical and project marks was extended till January 31, 2025.

New subjects added to HS Curriculum

The board has added 5 new subjects to the WB HS Syllabus for the academic year 2025-26. The board has added AI data science (AIDS), Environmental Science (EVSC), Fisheries and Aquaculture (FSAQ), Business Mathematics and Basic Statistics (BMBS) and Basic mathematics for Social Sciences (BMSS) in the new syllabus.
