The CBSE Class 12 English core and English elective examination 2026 was conducted on March 12, 2026. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) held the Class 12 English exam for English core (301) and English elective (001) from 10:30 to 1:30 pm. After the examination, many educators conduct live sessions to discuss and solve all three question paper sets (Set 1, Set 2, and Set 3). These CBSE Class 12 answer keys will help students to know the exact answers to MCQs.
The Reading Comprehension (Section A) answers are provided in the answer key. The descriptive answers in Sections B and C are evaluated based on content, expression, and accuracy. The unofficial CBSE 12th answer keys can only help students understand whether their answers are conceptually correct; the final marks depend entirely on CBSE’s official evaluation process. It is important to note that the board does not release an official answer key for the CBSE Class 12 examination.
The CBSE Class 12 English question paper 2026 includes sections on reading comprehension, literature, and writing. Students are required to carefully go through the question paper and attempt all questions accordingly. After the exam, CBSE Class 12 English answer discussions are available on YouTube and various educational portals through the links provided in this article.

The CBSE Class 12 English examination is conducted for two subjects: English Core (301) and English Elective (001). Both papers are designed to assess students’ reading, writing, grammar, and literary skills.
Both the CBSE Class 12 English core (301) and English elective (001) examinations are conducted for a total of 80 marks, with an additional 20 marks allotted for internal assessment, and the exam duration is three hours.
The CBSE 12th question paper is divided into three sections: Section A focuses on reading skills through comprehension passages, Section B assesses writing skills and grammar with questions such as notice writing, letters, invitations, articles, and grammar-based items, while Section C covers literature, including questions from the prescribed prose, poetry, and supplementary texts with both short and long answer types.
Similarly, the CBSE Class 12 English elective (001) paper consists of three sections, where Section A includes unseen passages for reading comprehension, Section B emphasises creative writing skills such as essay writing, creative compositions, and analytical writing, and Section C tests students on literature through questions based on prescribed novels, plays, poetry, and fiction.
