In a major restructuring of the examination system, the Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan, will be administering RBSE Class 10 board exams twice a year. This will be applicable from the current academic year 2026-27. Students will appear for the first board exam in February-March 2027, while the second board exam will take place in May 2027. Candidates will be able to take the remedial exam in up to 3 subjects.

The best scores out of both examinations will be counted as the final marks. Students must achieve at least 33% in two subjects in the first board exam; otherwise, they will not be permitted to appear in the RBSE Class 10 second board exam 2027.
The Rajasthan Board has scrapped the supplementary examination system. Now, students who could not clear the exam (up to 3 subjects) in the Main board exams can take the second board exam.
Students who just wish to improve their scores can also take the RBSE Class 10 second board exam in the respective subjects.
Students who do not wish to appear in the second board exam will get the marksheet and passing certificate based on the marks achieved in the RBSE 10th first board examination.
The Rajasthan Board will conduct the second board exam based on the same syllabus. Students will have to study the topics which were included in the Main board exam syllabus.
The exam pattern will be identical as well. Students need not worry about any changes to the question paper pattern.

Students of Class 10 studying in schools affiliated to the Rajasthan Board have the choice to take up the second board exam. Those who do not wish to take the second board exam can easily skip it. However, students should note that only the theory papers will be conducted in the second (remedial) examination in May 2027. The internal assessment (IA) and practical marks awarded during the first examination will remain unchanged.
Students will not be required or allowed to appear for the practical exams or internal assessments again. Their original IA and practical marks will be carried forward and considered along with their theory marks in the second board examination.
The twice-a-year board exam system will also benefit sports students who had issues with clashing of the exam dates with their event dates.
Such students can appear in the RBSE Class 10 second board exams if they miss appearing in the Main examination, which was held in February/March.
It should be noted that students must take at least 2 exams and also obtain passing marks in them; otherwise, they will be barred from appearing in the second board exams. They can take the RBSE 10th remedial exams in a maximum of 3 subjects.
Students who fail in English and one other subject in the first board exams will be provided an opportunity to appear in the Second Board Examination under the Essential Improvement (EI) category, instead of being declared eligible for a Supplementary examination.
Students who secure less than 33% marks in any two subjects, which is the minimum passing requirement, will be eligible to appear for the Second Board Examination to improve their performance and fulfil the qualifying criteria.

Students who do not secure the minimum qualifying marks, which is 33% in one or two subjects in the Main Examination, will be eligible for provisional admission to Class 11. Their admission will be confirmed and made permanent after the declaration of the results of the Second Board Examination, subject to fulfilling the prescribed qualifying criteria. The performance/results of the RBSE 10th main board exams will also be made available on Raj-e-Vault.
