The PM Internship Scheme is launched by the Government of India. Any Indian citizen between the ages of 21 to 24 can apply for this scheme. To apply for the PN internship scheme, candidates can visit the official website, pminternship.mca.gov.in.
The PM internship registration 2024 has been closed on November 15, 2024. Through the PM internship scheme opportunity, the youth of India will get a chance to gain exposure to a real-life business environment for 12 months. Read below to learn more about the PM internship scheme eligibility 2024.
Students applying for the PM Internship scheme must be aware of the eligibility criteria required for this scheme. Below, we have mentioned the PM internship scheme eligibility criteria for students’ reference.
The student must be an Indian citizen.
Candidates must be between the ages of 21 to 24 years old.
Students who are enrolled in full-time education can not apply for this scheme.
Candidates must complete their secondary school certificate (SSC) or its equivalent, higher secondary certificate (HSC) or equivalent or students must hold a certificate from an Industrial Training Institute (ITI), a diploma from a Polytechnic institute or have graduated in B.Com, BA, BCA, & B.Sc, B.Pharma, and BBA.
Candidates enrolled in correspondence/distance/online learning courses are eligible to apply for the PM internship scheme.
International candidates are not eligible to apply for the PM internship scheme.
The family income of the candidate must not exceed more than Rs 8 lakhs per annum.
No member of the student’s family has a government job.

Students who graduated from IITs, IIMs, National Law Universities, IISER, NIDs and IIITs cannot apply for this scheme.
Candidates with CA, CMA, CS, MBBS, BDS, MBA or any master’s or higher degree qualification are ineligible to apply.
With undergoing any skills such as apprenticeship, internship or student training programme under Central Government or State Government schemes.
Who has completed apprenticeship, or training under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) or National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) at any point.
If any member of the family is a permanent/ regular employee of the government.
The companies who want to be a part of the PM internship scheme can participate under the following criteria mentioned below:
The Ministry will identify the top 500 companies based on their average Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) expenditure over the last three years.
With the approval of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), other companies like banks or financial institutions can also participate in the PM internship scheme.
In case a partner company cannot provide internship opportunities within its organisation it can tie up with companies in its forward or backward supply chain (eg. suppliers, customers or vendors).
Collaboration can be done with other companies or institutions in its own group or external organizations.
The PM internship scheme will provide the internship opportunity for a duration of 12 months.
