Last year, the NRTS exam was conducted on September 19, 2025. A student enrolled in any school recognised by the Government of Odisha, or a school that has received a 'No Objection Certificate (NOC)' from the Government of Odisha, who has successfully passed Class 8 and is currently studying in Class 9, is eligible to appear for the NRTS examination. However, students from schools that do not follow the syllabus prescribed by the BSE Odisha are not eligible for the NRTS scholarship. The registration fee for each candidate appearing for the NRTS examination 2026 is INR 100/-.
The NRTS application fee payment must be made online. Once paid, the fee is non-refundable.
The NRTS 2026 exam will consist of a composite paper divided into four sections, one for each subject. Each section will carry 25 marks, bringing the total to 100 marks.
The questions will be multiple-choice, and candidates will need to mark their answers on an OMR sheet by selecting the correct option from four possible answers.
The exam will be based on the Class 8 syllabus, and the login authority or respective institution must carefully select the correct MIL subject during the NRTS registration process, as errors cannot be rectified later.
