The IAPT cutoff for the National Standard Examinations (NSEs) is typically determined based on the Minimum Admissible Score (MAS). This score is usually calculated as 50% of the average of the top 10 scores in the respective subject.

To qualify for the INO, students must attain a score equal to or exceeding the MAS. Also, students who rank in the top 1% nationally or state-wise are awarded National and State 1% Certificates, respectively. Centres with at least 10 participating students and at least one student scoring above the MAS are eligible for a Centre Top 10% Certificate.
