The Tamil Nadu SSLC examination, conducted by the Directorate of Government Examinations, Tamil Nadu, is scheduled to be held from March 11 to April 6, 2026. Students will appear for the TN Class 10 public examination in several subjects, including Tamil or other language papers, English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science. This year, approximately 9.09 lakh students (including 8.82 lakh regular and over 26,000 private candidates) are appearing for the boards. The TN SSLC exams will be held in a single shift from 10 AM to 1:15 PM. Once exams are over, different coaching institutes will release the answer key just after the exam. Most students have received their TN SSLC hall tickets, but if a few are still waiting. They can ask their schools for the Tamil Nadu SSLC admit card. Regular Students must collect their physical hall ticket from their respective school. It must have the Principal’s signature and school seal to be valid. Private Candidates can download their hall ticket directly from the official portal: dge.tn.gov.in or dge.tnschools.gov.in.
Mandatory Document: Do not forget the original TN SSLC hall ticket. Entry will not be permitted without it.
Stationery: Carry your own pens (blue/black), pencils, erasers, and geometry tools. Borrowing is generally discouraged in the exam hall. As it will create disturbance for other students.
Prohibited Items: Mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, and any printed material are strictly banned. If students bring it with them by mistake, they can submit it to teachers.
Reporting Time: It is recommended to reach the exam centre by 9:00 AM to avoid last-minute stress. The exam will start at 10 am.

The Tamil Nadu SSLC exams officially begin on March 11, 2026 (Tamil/Language Paper) and conclude on April 6, 2026 (Optional Language).
Students must score a minimum of 35 out of 100 in each subject. For Science, this is a combined 35 marks from both theory and practicals (with a mandatory minimum in theory).
Students can use it to scan the sections. Identify the 1-mark multiple-choice questions (MCQs) they are confident about and plan which 5-mark or 8-mark questions they will attempt first.
