The Bihar School Examination Board has specified a strict age requirement for students registering under the Bihar Board Class 9 registration 2026-27 cycle. As per the official guidelines, a student must be at least 14 years old as of March 1, 2027.
This age criterion is non-negotiable. Registration forms of students who are below the minimum permissible age will be cancelled during verification. Schools must cross-check birth records before approving the student’s details on the portal.
The Bihar Board Class 9 registration process is conducted exclusively by schools. Students are not allowed to fill out the registration form on their own. The entire procedure must be completed online through the official BSEB portal. To make the process clearer, the steps have been organised below:
The head of the institution or an authorised staff member must log in to the official BSEB registration portal using their allotted school credentials. The official portal is biharboardonline.org.
Schools must enter complete and correct information for every student. The details include:
Full name (dummy names like X, Y, XYZ, A, or B are strictly not allowed)
Date of birth
Gender
Aadhaar number or a written declaration if Aadhaar is not available
APAAR ID (if provided)
Category and other required academic information
The portal requires schools to upload clear, original files in the specified format:
Photograph: 35 mm × 30 mm, size 40-100 KB, jpg/jpeg, light background
Signature: 3.5 cm × 1 cm, size 5-20 KB, jpg/jpeg
After completing data entry, the system automatically generates a declaration form. Schools must:
Print the form
Get it signed by the student and their parent/guardian
Authenticate it with the school head’s signature and official seal
Upload the scanned copy back to the portal
Schools must pay the required fees before the deadline using one of the official payment modes: Debit or credit card, Net banking, NEFT/RTGS, or Bank challan (the journal number must be entered on the portal after payment)
After the fee payment is verified, the school must submit the registration form online by December 8, 2025. Once the deadline passes, BSEB will not reopen the portal or accept late submissions under any circumstances.
Schools must keep the following records safely for audit and future reference:
Fee challans or journal slips
Signed and uploaded declaration forms
Copies of student data and submission receipts
Some of the essential documents required during the registration process include the following:
Birth certificate
Aadhaar number or Aadhaar declaration
Caste certificate (if applicable)
Passport-size photographs
Previous school records
Domicile certificate (if required)
Parent/student signatures
Pre-filled declaration form
The Bihar School Examination Board has specified the fee structure for Class 9 registration and permission forms. The fee component is the same for all schools, but the total amount differs for Regular and Independent (Private) students.
