In case two or more students score the same marks, the following tie-breaking rules will apply in sequence:
As per latest syllabus. Maths formulas, equations, & theorems of class 11 & 12th chapters
The first step in resolving a tie is by comparing marks obtained in specific subjects, depending on the stream applied for:
MPC Stream: Candidates with higher marks in Mathematics will be given a higher rank.
BPC Stream: Candidates with higher marks in Biological Science will be preferred.
MEC Stream: Candidates with higher marks in Social Studies will be ranked higher.
If the tie still persists after the primary subject comparison, marks in the secondary subject are considered:
MPC: Higher marks in Physical Science.
BPC: Higher marks in Physical Science.
MEC: Higher marks in Mathematics.
If candidates are still tied after comparing subject scores, the next deciding factor is age. The candidate with advanced age (older candidate) is given preference.
If a tie remains unresolved, TSREIS follows a category-based criterion. The order of preference is:
ST > SC > BC-A > BC-B > BC-C > BC-D > BC-E > OC
If, in rare cases, all of the above factors fail to resolve the tie, age is once again used as the final deciding factor. This time, it is based on older age being awarded the higher rank.
