Inspire Scholarship 2020-21 - Department of Science and Technology (DST) provides financial assistance for further studies through Inspire scholarship. It stands for Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research. Inspire scholarship 2020 is a merit-based scholarship. Students who fulfil the given eligibility conditions can apply for SHE Inspire 2020 scholarship. The main objective of the DST Inspire program is to attract students to study in Basic science and give them a chance to make a career in Science research. The eligible students pursuing UG in Basic and Natural Sciences subjects will be provided DST Inspire scholarship. The application forms for Inspire Scholarship 2020 will be released in the first week of November 2020. Inspire scholarship 2020 last date will fall in the last week of December 2020. Inspire Scholarship Eligibility 2020
Only the students who fulfil the following eligibility conditions can apply for Inspire scholarship program.
Age Criteria: Student’s age should be between 17-22 years
The top 1% meritorious students of 12th class of any state or central education board.
Students who have secured JEE or NEET rank within 10000 ranks can also apply for the Inspire scholarship 2020.
Students who fulfil any of the above eligibility conditions and pursuing BSc, BS, and Int.MSc/MS in basic and natural science are eligible for the Inspire scholarship program 2020.
Students of ISERs, NISER and Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Basic Sciences studying integrated M.S. course are also eligible.
Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY), Jagadish Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS), National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) scholars and International Olympiad medalists who are studying UG or PG course in Natural science can also apply for Inspire scholarship program.

BSc/BS/Int. MSc/Int. MS course in Mathematics/ Geology/ Physics/ Statistics/ Chemistry, Astrophysics/ Botany/ Biology/ Astronomy/ Zoology/ Microbiology/ Electronics/ Geophysics/ Bio-chemistry/ Geochemistry/ Atmospheric Sciences/ Anthropology/ Oceanic Sciences.
Only regular course students are eligible for Inspire scholarship 2020.
Following Courses are not Supported
Other courses in any other subjects such as Medicine, Agriculture, Psychology, Engineering, Seed Technology, Military Science, Anthropology, Defense Studies, Home Science, Biotechnology, Bio-informatics, Geography, Economics, Physical Education, Education, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Applications, Instrumentation.
Distance Education students can not apply for this scholarship.
UP students can also apply for post matric UP scholarship 2020.
Inspire Scholarship Application Form 2020
The registration form of Inspire scholarship 2020 will be released in the first week of November 2020. Students can register online for fresh scholarship and they can also renew their scholarship through the same window.
Here are the major steps to apply for Inspire scholarship 2020-21
Open the official website: online-inspire.gov.in.
Click on the new user registration link for fresh scholarship else follow from step no. 4.
Enter all the basic details as asked and submit it.
Now login with the credentials generated and candidate dashboard will open on the screen.
Open scholarship link and enter personal details, current educational information, 12th class details/National level competitive exam details, other details and contact details.
Now verify all the details and submit it.
Students should note down application reference number/IVR No. to track Inspire scholarship status 2020.
Take a printout of the application form to refer later.
Visit the National scholarship portal to apply for other state level and national level scholarships.

Inspire Scholarship 2020 Selection Process
There is no exam conducted to provide this scholarship. Students are selected on the basis of their marks secured in 12th class.
Board-wise cutoff marks are released on the official website as a pdf file. Students who have attained equal or more than the cutoff marks are selected for DST Inspire scholarship.
They will have to open a savings bank account in SBI bank only and link the same with Aadhar. Now upload the scanned file of self-attested photocopy of passbook’s first page on the DST web portal.

Inspire Scholarship Amount 2020
After selection, each student will be provided with Rs. 80000 per annum. The Inspire scholarship amount is segregated into annual scholarship (Rs. 60000) and summertime attachment fees (Rs. 20000).
The annual scholarship of Rs. 60000 is deposited to student’s account at Rs. 5000 per month.
Summertime attachment fees of Rs. 20000 is paid to the students who have attended the summer time research project.
A total of 12000 Inspire SHE scholarships are made available to eligible students.
The scholarship is provided for a maximum of five years or until the completion of course.
The cutoff are the minimum marks to get selected for DST Inspire SHE scholarship. Students who have achieved the same or more marks in 12th board result are selected for the scholarship. Inspire Scholarship Result 2020
The result of DST Inspire scholarship will be declared in the last week of June 2020 in online mode. Students can access their result through the online portal by logging in. The selection list and rejection lists can also be downloaded from the official website. These lists will mention the IVR number, name and father’s name of the selected student. Students can also check the reason for rejection in the rejected list.
Renewal of Inspire Scholarship 2020
The renewal of the scholarship mainly depends on the candidate’s performance.
Students will have to submit their performance report and result marksheet within 12 months of the result announcement.
Only students who have achieved 60% or more marks (7.0 GPA or above) in the University/College exams will be eligible for continuation of DST Inspire scholarship 2020.
The scholarship is not given to the students who have not attended the exams or failed to achieve minimum marks.
