Types of UP Scholarship 2026-27

Uttar Pradesh Social Welfare Department offers various scholarships for students of UP from 9th to post-graduation.

• Pre-Matric Scholarship for Class 9-10
• Post Matric Scholarship for Intermediate (Class 11-12)
• Post Matric Scholarship for Other than Inter
• Post Matric Outside State

UP Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarship 2026-27 Eligibility Criteria

Students who are interested in applying for the UP Scholarship 2026-27 must fulfil the eligibility criteria prescribed by the board. Here we have discussed the criteria for the students to check and apply for the scholarship.

Domicile for UP Scholarship 2026-27

• The students who are domiciled in Uttar Pradesh can only apply for this scholarship.
• The students must be studying in a college/school, or university in Uttar Pradesh.
• Also, the School/College of a student must be registered on the UP scholarship portal.

Academic Qualifications for UP Scholarship

• For Post-matric Scholarship: Students must be studying in the 11th or 12th class.
• For Post-matric Scholarship (Other than 11th, 12th): The student needs to be in a graduation or post-graduation course of a recognised University/College.
• For Pre-matric Scholarship: The student must be studying in the 9th or 10th class.

Category Required for UP Scholarship 2026-27

• Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Muslim, Parsi, and Jain students can also apply for the same under the Minority category.
• SC, ST, OBC, and General category students can apply for this scholarship.

Minimum Income for UP Scholarship 2026-27

• For post-matric scholarship, the family income should be equal to or less than Rs. 2 lakh/annum.
• The student's family income should not exceed Rs 1 lakh/annum to apply for the UP pre-matric scholarship.

How to Apply for UP Scholarship 2026-27?

All the students who are eligible for UP Scholarship 2026-27 can apply online via scholarship.up.gov.in. Below are simple steps that a student needs to follow while applying for UP pre-matric and UP post-matric scholarships. Uttar Pradesh Scholarship Registration Process

Step 1: UP Scholarship 2026-27 Online Registration

To fill out the Pre-matric and UP post-matric scholarship 2026-27 online form, students must follow the steps:

• Students need to visit the official website at scholarship.up.gov.in
• Go to the ‘Menu’ option and click on the link of ‘Student’, here you can register for a fresh scholarship.
• Go to the relevant link to apply for the scholarship and enter the details asked.
• Create your password correctly and submit the form.
• After that, write down your application number generated on the screen.

Step 2: UP Scholarship 2026-27 Login

• After completing the registration, go to the homepage of the official website.
• Open UP Scholarship login.
• Here, you need to choose the type of fresh scholarship and open the relevant link.
• Enter your registration number, your date of birth and then your password.
• At last, enter the Captcha and done.

Step 3: Fill out the UP Scholarship Form 2026-27

After logging in, go to the link of the application form, and enter the details as asked:

• Educational Details
• Personal details
• Caste and income details
• Bank details
• Current School/College fee details
• Last year's education details

After completing this step, click on the ‘Update’ button and save the details. You will see a message on your screen as given below.

Step 4: Photo Uploading for UP Scholarship 2026-27

• After filling the form, students need to log out and re-login to upload a student's photo.
• The size of the photograph should be less than or equal to 20 KB in JPEG/JPG format.
• Take a printout of the application form.

Step 5: Submit UP Scholarship 2026-27 Form at School/College

• Students need to attach their documents to the printed application form.
• Submit this complete application form to the concerned authority of the respective school/College.
• They will examine the application form and proceed further.

Apply for UP Scholarship Renewal 2026-27

Students can renew their previous scholarship; they will have to go through the same process as a fresh one. Below are the steps that need to be completed.

• Go to the homepage and click on the registration link.
• Click on the relevant link for renewal and enter the details.
• Go to the renewal UP scholarship login page and log in.
• Fill out the application form and enter your last year's scholarship details along with your previous educational details.
• After this, upload a passport-size photo and take the printout of the form.
• Now, submit the application form at the respective school/College for further processing.

Documents Required for UP Scholarship 2026-27

Students need to upload their passport-size photograph, and it should be in JPEG/JPG format. The size of the passport photograph should not be more than 20 KB. Below is the list of documents that students need to submit with their application.

• Marksheet/Certificate of the qualifying examination
• Income certificate
• Caste certificate
• Receipt of the fee submitted to the school
