• Students must be residents of Maharashtra.

• They must be studying in 4th or 7th standard in any government-recognised, aided, unaided or permanent, unaided/self-financed school. 

• In 11 districts of Vidarbha, if the annual income of the parents is less than Rs. 1,00,000/-, it is mandatory to have a certificate from the competent authority (Talathi / Tehsildar / Provincial Officer) in this regard.

• If the parents of the students are landless agricultural labourers with an annual income of less than Rs. 1,00,000/-, it is mandatory to have certificates issued by the competent authority (Talathi / Tehsildar / Provincial Officer) stating that they are landless agricultural labourers and have an annual income of less than Rs. 1,00,000/-.
