Students applying for the SSP Post Matric Scholarship 2026-27 must know the following eligibility criteria before filling out the application form. The amount received by the students depends on their family income and all the eligibility criteria set up by the government.
Students belonging to the SC and ST categories are eligible for the SSP Post Matric Scholarship under the social and tribal welfare departments, respectively. The family income of the student must not exceed 2.5 LPA. Candidates from all the courses are eligible under this department. Eligible students will get a full compulsory fee waiver and maintenance amount.
Students belonging to the OBC category are eligible for the SSP Post Matric Scholarship under the Backwards Classes Welfare Department. The annual family income must be less than or equal to 2.5 lakh per annum for Category 1 students, and less than or equal to 1 lakh per annum for Categories 2A, 3A, and 3B. Students from category I must have passed the previous exam with 60%, whereas students from the other categories must have passed with 70% marks. Only two sons per family are eligible for this scholarship, but it does not apply to the female children.
Students belonging to the minority communities are eligible for the SSP Post Matric Scholarship under the Department of Minority Welfare. The annual family income must be less than or equal to 2 lakh per annum for PMS courses, and less than or equal to 2.5 lakh per annum for MCM courses. Students from all the courses are eligible under this department. Students must have passed their previous final examination with 50% marks. Eligible students will get the fee reimbursement scheme benefit and merit-cum-means scholarship.
Students belonging to the SC/ST categories or the children of Defence personnel are eligible for the fee reimbursement scheme under the Department of Technical Education. The family income must be above 2.5 lpa and below 10 lpa for SC/ST categories. There are no caste or income restrictions for the students applying under the Defence quota. Students from BE/B. Tech, B.Arch, or Diploma in Polytechnic courses are eligible, and admission must strictly be through the KEA-CET. For the defence category, the students' parents must be a serving officer or staff member in the Indian Defence Wings (Army, Air Force, or Navy) holding a rank of Non-Commissioned Officer, Junior Commissioned Officer, or other ranks below them.
Students belonging to the SC/ST categories are eligible for the fee reimbursement scheme under the Department of Medical Education and the AYUSH Department. The annual family income of the student must be above 2.5 lakh and below 10 lakh per annum to qualify for the scholarship under this department. Students enrolled in medical courses such as MBBS, BDS, or courses under AYUSH (alternative medicine systems) are eligible.
Students belonging to the Brahmin community are eligible for the fee reimbursement and maintenance allowance schemes under the Karnataka State Brahmin Development Board. The student’s family income must come under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category, which must be under 8 lakh per annum to be eligible for a scholarship under this department. Students from all courses are applied under this board.
Students who want to apply for the SSP Post Matric Scholarship must submit their applications online from the official website at ssp.karnataka.gov.in. Follow the steps mentioned below to successfully apply for the SSP Post Matric Scholarship 2026-27.
Go to the official website at ssp.karnataka.gov.in.
Click on the “Post-Matric Scholarship for FY 2025-26" link on the homepage.
Click on “Create Account”.

Fill in the mandatory fields, tick the consent, and click on ‘Proceed’.
Following this process, the applicants' Aadhaar will be linked to their bank account. After that, provide the email address, mobile number, and OTP, and click on ‘Submit’.
Now, enter the certificate’s details and click on ‘Proceed’.
Upon clicking the proceed button, the applicants will be prompted to verify their names on the certificates. Should the name be accurate, the applicants will be redirected to the subsequent page.
In case the applicants possess a ration card, they are required to select "Yes" and provide their ration card number. Alternatively, if they do not possess a ration card, they must apply for one to continue with the process.
Upon entering the ration card number, a list of family members will be displayed. Choose the applicant's name from the roster and click on the ‘Check’.
Create a password and click on ‘Submit’.

Visit the SSP scholarship's official website at ssp.karnataka.gov.in.
Click on the dashboard's "Student Login" button.
Enter the username, password, and captcha to access the account.
After logging in, finalise the scholarship application by providing all the required information in the application form.
Ensure to fill in all the required details accurately. Additionally, kindly upload all relevant documents and apply.
SSP scholarship portal applicants need to get their documents re-attested by their college e-attestation officer to apply. We have provided the steps below that will guide an applicant through the process of getting their documents attested online
Go to the official website of the SSP scholarship and navigate to the homepage.
Select the option "Click here for e-authentication portal (Students)" to proceed.
A new window will appear. Enter the Aadhaar number, captcha, and consent to the appropriate box.
Finally, click on the ‘Verify’.
Upon verification, the candidate will be redirected to the student profile page.
Fill in the required information, such as college name, university name, and course, and then proceed to upload the necessary documents.
Now, click on the ‘Aadhar Consent’ form, complete the form, and download it.
To get the form and original documents attested, visit the e-attestation officer in college.
Once the officer re-attests the documents, they will be displayed in the Approved documents section.
