The National STEM Quiz 5.0 is organised by the Gujarat Council on Science and Technology (GUJCOST) under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Gujarat. The National STEM Quiz 5 application forms will be released in September 2026. The National STEM Quiz 5 last date to fill the form will be in December 2026. The National STEM Quiz 5 preliminary round will be held in January 2027.

The fourth edition expanded the earlier Gujarat STEM Quiz into a nationwide competition for students of Classes 9 to 12. The quiz aims to promote curiosity, scientific temperament, innovation and interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) among school students
The National STEM Quiz 5.0 application will start in September 2026. The competition will be open to students from all boards and mediums across India.

The National STEM Quiz 5.0 will be divided into two categories based on the student's class:
Junior Category: Students studying in Classes 9 and 10 will be eligible for the Junior Category.
Students enrolled in Classes 11 and 12 will be eligible to participate in the Senior Category.
The quiz is open for students from all recognised education boards and mediums across India, and no registration fee will be charged for participation.

Registration for the National STEM Quiz 5.0 will be conducted online through the official STEM Quiz portal. Students from different states and boards will be invited to participate in the national-level competition.
The registration process will include providing the required student and school details and completing the online registration within the specified time. The registration will be free of cost. The final reported deadline for the 5.0 edition will be in December 2026.
The National STEM Quiz 5.0 registration process will be conducted online through the official STEM Quiz portal. Students from Classes 9 to 12 across India, irrespective of their board, medium or gender, will be eligible to participate.
Steps to Apply for National STEM Quiz 5.0?
Visit the official National STEM Quiz website.
Click on the Registration/Application link for STEM Quiz 5.0.
Enter the required student and school details.
Provide a valid mobile number and email ID.
Select the appropriate category based on the student's class:
Junior Category: Classes 9 and 10
Senior Category: Classes 11 and 12
Review the information entered in the application form.
Submit the registration form.
After successful registration, students receive their login credentials via SMS and email on the registered mobile number and email address.
The preliminary quiz will be conducted online and will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions to be answered within 60 minutes. Students will receive login credentials through their registered mobile number and email address.
Key exam guidelines
The quiz will consist of 100 MCQs.
The duration will be 60 minutes.
Students will receive a username and password for accessing the quiz.
Once an answer is submitted, students can not return to the previous question.
If internet connectivity is interrupted, students will be able to log in again and continue from where they left off within the permitted period.
Students will be able to click the final submit button to complete the test.
An e-certificate of participation will be available to download after submission.
The competition will be conducted in three major stages:
1. Preliminary Round
The first stage will be conducted through an online platform and will be open to registered students from across India.
2. Zonal Round
Students who qualify from the preliminary stage will progress to the zonal level. The zonal round will be organised for the Junior and Senior categories.
3. Grand Finale
The final stage will be conducted as a live event at Gujarat Science City, Ahmedabad. The Junior Category and Senior Category Grand Finale will be held in March
The National STEM Quiz 5.0 will carry a total prize fund of Rs 2 crore, including STEM scholarships and other incentives.

The National STEM Quiz 5.0 answer key will be available after the preliminary examination. Students will be able to use the answer key to compare their responses with the official answers and assess their performance.
The answer key will be particularly useful for students who want to understand their performance before the subsequent selection stages.
The National STEM Quiz 5.0 result and selection-related updates will be released after the various stages of the competition. Students who qualify for subsequent rounds will be included in the selection lists published by GUJCOST.
The zonal selection lists will include separate lists for Junior and Senior categories.
