1. Can you tell us about your journey and what sparked your interest in science and mathematics?

“My journey began with a deep passion for science and mathematics. Over the years, this passion has only grown stronger, driving me to work hard and stay dedicated to my studies. Competing in Olympiads such as the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO), the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO), and the Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO) has been challenging yet incredibly rewarding. These experiences have taught me the value of perseverance, discipline, and continuous learning, says Aditya”.

2. The journey of winning the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) in 2021 and the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) in 2023 seems impressive. Can you share the process you went through during these exams?

The journey of cracking IJSO involves four stages starting with the National Standard Examination in Junior Science (NSEJS) conducted by the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT). After that, I appeared for INJSO (Indian National Junior Science Olympiad) conducted by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE), and then for Orientation Cum Selection Camp (OCSC) also organized by HBCSE. After such difficult competition, only a team of six students is selected to represent India at the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) for the final competition among global participants.

Similarly for the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) held in Tokyo, Japan. It starts with cracking the NSEP (National Standard Examination in Physics) conducted by IAPT then INPhO (Indian National Physics Olympiad) organized by HBCSE, Mumbai and then OCSC again organized by HBCSE. After this, only a team of five students is selected to represent India at the International Physics Olympiads (IPhO).

3. These achievements are inspirational, apart from the IJSO and IPhO, what other notable competitions have you won or participated in?

I have participated in multiple competitions such as Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) held at CSIR-IICT, Hyderabad in 2019, topped Mukhyamantri Vigyan Pratibha Pariksha (MVPP) Delhi in May 2021, qualified INMO in 2021, 2022, 2023 and in 2024, won a Bronze medal in Asian Pacific Mathematics Olympiad (APMO), won a Silver medal in Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO) held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, 2023. Along with these, I won 1st place in Fyziklani (a physics competition taking place in Prague, Czech Republic) category B and in recent time I won the Bronze medal in APhO held in Perak, Malaysia, 2024.

4. That’s an impressive list of achievements. You also secured AIR 2 in JEE Advance 2024. How did you prepare for such a competitive exam?

JEE advance is one tough exam, but with the right support and preparation, nothing is hard to crack. I am deeply thankful for the support of my sister, Lavanya who is a student of IIT Delhi, and my parents, teachers, and mentors who have guided me throughout this journey. Their encouragement and belief in my potential have been instrumental in my success. I am also grateful to my peers and friends who have always been there to share the highs and lows of this journey.

Along with this, my coaching institute, FIITJEE, played a pivotal role in guiding me through this journey. Their structured programs, experienced faculty, and continuous support were instrumental in my success.

5. Any message you want to convey to students who are aspiring to achieve excellence in science and mathematics?

I believe staying focused is important along with hard work. Try to challenge yourself, stay dedicated to your studies, and solve as many challenges as possible. These competitions can be tough but worth the effort. Understand the value of perseverance, discipline, and continuous learning.
