The enrollment and participation of students from EWS communities is gradually increasing and paving a better way for their growth, upliftment and posterity. Listed below are some EWS scholarships provided by the state governments of Maharashtra, Kerala as well as scholarships provided by a few private organizations.
This scholarship supports students in senior secondary or higher secondary classes — Classes 11 and 12.
Name Of The Scheme: Government Vidhyaniketan Scholarship
Eligibility:
Must be a permanent resident of Maharashtra and
Must have scored 60% marks in Class 10 from a government Vidhyaniketan of Maharashtra
Must be currently studying Class 11 or Class 12
What It Covers: The selected students will get Rs 1,200 per year

This scholarship in junior college is intended to motivate the students to continue their education and study further higher studies. This scholarship is initiated by the department of school education.
Name Of The Scholarship: Open Merit Scholarship In Junior College
Eligibility:
Must be studying Class 11 or Class 12 in any government or aided institution in Maharashtra.
Must have secured 60% marks in Class 10 examination in their first attempt
What It Covers: The selected students will receive Rs 1,500 per year

This scholarship is initiated by the School Education Department, Government of Maharashtra. It aims to encourage students of economically weaker sections to continue their education.
Name Of The Scholarship: Open Merit Scholarship for EBC Students
Eligibility:
Must be the permanent resident of Maharashtra belonging to economically backward classes
Must be currently studying Class 11 or Class 12
Must have secured at least 50% marks in their Class 10 in the first attempt
What It Covers: The selected students will receive the scholarship each year according to the below criteria
Hosteler boys receives Rs 1,400
Non-hosteler boys receives Rs 800
Hostel girls receives Rs 1,600
Non-hosteler girls receives Rs 1,000

The aim of this scholarship is to financially support the students belonging to the economically backward classes and are studying at the post-matric or post-secondary level.
Name Of The Scheme: Dr. Ambedkar Post Matric Scholarship for Economically Backward Classes
Eligibility:
Must have a domicile of Kerala
Must belong to General Category
Must be studying in post matriculation or post-secondary class in a government school
The family income should not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh per annum
What It Covers: The selected students will get the following benefits:
Maintenance allowance of Rs 750 per month
Reader charges for blind students
Reimbursement of compulsory non-refundable fees
How To Apply: Eligible students should fill the application form completely along with attaching the required documents and send it by post to - The Managing Director, L2, Kuleena, Jawahar Nagar, Kowdiar P.O, Trivandrum, Kerala. It is also important that the application form must be attested by the school principal where the student is studying.
The scholarship is provided by the Buddy4Study India Foundation. The main objective of this scheme is to provide online learning facilities and financial assistance to the students belonging to economically weaker sections of the society.
Name Of The Scholarship: EWS Scholarship For Class 10 Passed Students
Eligibility:
Must have passed Class 10 with at least 50% marks
Must be studying in Class 11 or Class 12
The family income of the candidate should not exceed Rs 6 lakh per annum
What It Covers: Each eligible candidate will get upto Rs 10,000 per year.
