In this article, we have listed major scholarships that are provided by the Government of Madhya Pradesh to the state domicile students. Read below to explore these MP government funded scholarships.

Gaon Ki Beti Scholarship

This scholarship is provided by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh to meritorious girl students living in villages. The motive behind this scholarship is to improve the female literacy rate in the state as well as help those girl students who are unable to continue their higher studies due to financial barriers.

Eligibility:

  • Should be a girl student.

  • Must be residing in any of the small villages of Madhya Pradesh.

  • Must have scored at least 60 percent marks in Class 12.

  • Must hold a certificate of a village daughter issued by the state government.

What It Covers:

  • A financial aid up to Rs 5,000 every year (500 per month for 10 months).

Vikramaditya Scholarship Yojna

Provided by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh, this scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to the meritorious General Category students living below the poverty line. The scholarship will help such poor students complete their higher education free of cost.

Eligibility:

  • Must be a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh.

  • Must have secured at least 60 percent marks in Class 12.

  • Must be from the General Category belonging to BPL (Below Poverty Line).

  • The annual family income from all sources of those seeking graduation and higher education should not exceed Rs 54,000 and Rs 1,20,000 respectively.

What It Covers:

  • A yearly sum of Rs 2,500.

Important Note:

  • The beneficiary must have an active bank account with DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) enabled in his/her name.

Pratibha Kiran Scholarship

Given by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh, this scholarship is for deserving girl students residing in urban areas of the state and belonging to a BPL family.

Eligibility:

  • Must be a girl student residing in any urban area of Madhya Pradesh.

  • Must have a residence certificate.

  • Must belong to a BPL family.

  • Must have scored at least 60 percent marks in Class 12.

What It Covers:

  • A financial aid up to Rs 5,000 every year (500 per month for 10 months).

Mukhyamantri Medhavi Vidyarthi Yojana

This scholarship is given by the Government of Madhya Pradesh to those meritorious students who have taken admission in graduate-level courses in engineering, medical and law stream. The prime objective of this scholarship is to provide financial aid to deserving students and help them pursue their dream without any financial difficulty.

Eligibility:

  • Must be a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh.

  • Must have passed Class 12 with at least 70 percent or more marks (if appeared through Secondary Education Board of Madhya Pradesh) or have obtained at least 85 percent or more marks (if appeared through CBSE or ICSE Board).

  • The annual family income from all sources should not exceed Rs 6 lakh.

  • Must have taken admission in an undergraduate course at a recognised university or institution.

  • For engineering aspirants: The applicant must have qualified the JEE Mains exam with a rank of less than 1,50,000.

  • For medical aspirants: The applicant must have obtained admission in a government/private medical/dental college after qualifying the NEET exam.

  • For law aspirants: The applicant must have qualified the CLAT examination and obtained admission in any NLU (National Law University) or Delhi University.

What It Covers:

  • The students enrolling in an engineering program in a government college will receive full course fees and those enrolling in a private college will receive Rs 1.5 lakh or actual course fees (whichever is less).

  • The students enrolling in a medical degree program in any government/private medical/dental college will receive the full tuition fee.

  • The students enrolling in a law degree program at any National Law University will receive full course fees.

Mukhyamantri Jankalyan (Shiksha Protsahan) Yojna

The Government of Madhya Pradesh provided this scholarship to Class 12 passed students enrolled in a graduate/post graduate/ITI/polytechnic diploma level course in government or government recognised college/university.

Eligibility:

  • Must be a resident of Madhya Pradesh.

  • Applicant's father/mother must have their name registered as an unorganised worker in the Department of Labour, Government of Madhya Pradesh.

  • Must have taken admission in an undergraduate/polytechnic diploma/ITI level of course at a government recognised university or institution.

  • For engineering aspirants: The applicant must have qualified the JEE Mains exam with a rank of less than 1,50,000.

  • For medical aspirants: The applicant must have obtained admission in a government/private medical/dental college after qualifying the NEET exam.

  • For law aspirants: The applicant must have qualified the CLAT examination and obtained admission in any NLU (National Law University) or Delhi University.

What It Covers:

  • The students enrolling in an engineering program in a government college will receive full course fees and those enrolling in a private college will receive Rs 1.5 lakh or actual course fees (whichever is less).

  • Those pursuing an undergraduate or integrated postgraduate program from a government recognised college/institution will get full tuition fees.

Important Note:

  • Those who have got admission in a graduation programme or integrated post graduation or dual degree course that includes both master degree and bachelor degree courses in a government college/institution, can also apply for this scholarship.

  • Those who have got admission in any graduation degree programme in any state administered or state funded college/university Or have got admission in a post graduation programme conducted under the Higher Education Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh or any diploma/ITI (including global skill park) programme in a Polytechnic College, can also apply for this scholarship.

  • Those who have got admission in a diploma course/degree or certificate programme in paramedical science in a government medical college or programme run under it, can also apply for this scholarship.

Post Matric Scholarship Scheme For OBC Students

The Post Matric Scholarship for OBC students given by the Government of Madhya Pradesh aims to encourage students belonging to the OBC category to continue their higher studies after passing Class 10. This scholarship provides up to 100 percent scholarships to the eligible students.

Eligibility:

  • Must be a domicile of Madhya Pradesh.

  • Must belong to the OBC category.

  • Must be studying Class 11 or above.

  • The annual family income from all sources should not exceed Rs 3 lakh.

What It Covers: The benefits under this scheme depends on the student’s family income, course, course fee, etc. Following are the details of the rewards given under scholarship.

  • Applicants having their annual family income less than Rs 75,000 will get 100 percent scholarship.

  • Applicants having their annual family income less than Rs 1,00,000 will get 50 percent scholarship.

Post Matric Scholarship Scheme For SC Students

This scholarship, provided by the Government of Madhya Pradesh, is dedicated to the students belonging to the SC category of the state. The motive of this scholarship is to encourage SC students towards higher studies after matriculation and help them continue it.

Eligibility:

  • Must be a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh.

  • Must have passed Class 10.

  • Must belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category of Madhya Pradesh.

  • Must have taken admission in a post-matriculation class from a government recognised school/college/institution.

What It Covers: The benefits under this scheme depends on the student’s family income, course, course fee, etc. However, the selected applicant will receive up to 100 percent scholarship.

Post Matric Scholarship Scheme For ST Students

Quite Similar to the above scholarship scheme, this scholarship is provided by the Government of Madhya Pradesh to the students belonging to the SC category of the state. The aim of this scholarship is to help the needy SC students in pursuing their higher studies after their matriculation.

Eligibility:

  • Must be a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh.

  • Must have passed Class 10.

  • Must belong to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category of Madhya Pradesh.

  • Must have taken admission in a post-matriculation class from a government recognised school/college/institution.

  • The annual family income from all sources should not exceed Rs 6 lakh.

What It Covers: The benefits under this scheme depends on the student’s family income, course, course fee, etc. Following are the details of the rewards given under scholarship.

  • Applicants having their annual family income less than Rs 5,00,000 will get up to 100 percent scholarship.

  • Applicants having their annual family income in the range of Rs 5,00,000 to Rs 6,00,000 will get up to 50 percent scholarship.
