There are 50 odd numbers between 1 and 100.

Odd numbers are integers that can not be divided into two equal parts. In other words, an integer, when divided by 2 gives a non-zero remainder and is called an odd number. For example, if we divide 5 by 2 then the remainder comes to be 1, which is a non-zero number. Hence 5 is an odd number.

Also, if we divide 4 by 2, then the remainder is zero. Hence 4 is an even number.

Generally, we represent an odd number as “2k+1”, where k is an integer. By putting values of k, we can get different odd numbers.

Odd Numbers Between 1 And 100

  • By putting consecutive integral values of k in the general formula of odd numbers (2k+1), we can easily find the odd numbers between 1 and 100.

  • For example, if we put k=0, we get the first odd number that is 1.

  • Similarly, if we put k=1, we get the second odd number equal to 3.

Properties Of Odd Numbers

The following lists the properties of odd numbers.

  • Addition of Odd Numbers: The addition of any two odd numbers gives an even number. For example, 1 (odd) + 5 (odd) = 6(even).

  • Subtraction of Odd Numbers: We get an even number as an answer when subtracting any two odd numbers. For example, 5 (odd) - 3 (odd) = 2 (even).

  • Multiplication of Odd Numbers: Multiplication of any two odd numbers gives an odd number. For example, 7 (odd) × 5 (odd) = 35 (odd).

  • Division Of Odd Numbers: The division of any two odd numbers gives an odd number. For example, 55 (odd) ÷ 11 (odd) = 5
