In English, 41 can be written as Forty One. For example, if you have 41 classmates, you can tell your parents, ‘I have Forty-One friends’. To learn how to write 41 in words, we must first look into the different names that numbers get when they are in the tens place in the place value table. Let us learn about these names.
Before we look at the place value of the number 41 to write it in words, let's first learn the different names of numbers when they are in the tens place.
In the following table, the tens place will have any random number, and the one's place will have a 0.
Number | Tens place | Ones Place | Number in Words |
10 | 1 | 0 | Ten |
20 | 2 | 0 | Twenty |
30 | 3 | 0 | Thirty |
40 | 4 | 0 | Forty |
50 | 5 | 0 | Fifty |
60 | 6 | 0 | Sixty |
70 | 7 | 0 | Seventy |
80 | 8 | 0 | Eighty |
90 | 9 | 0 | Ninety |
Looking at the table above we can now start placing the number 41 in its place values. Refer to the table below.
Digit Place | Hundred | Tens | Ones |
Digit | 0 | 4 | 1 |
As we can see from the table above, the number 1 is in the one's place, and the number 4 is in the tens place. If we look at the first table, we can find out that if 4 is in the tens place, the number starts with Forty. Therefore, the number 41 can then be written as Forty One.
The number 41 can be expressed mathematically as follows
\begin{aligned}
&0 \times \text {Hundred} + 4 \times \text{Tens} + 1 \times \text {Ones}\\
&=0 \times 100+ 4 \times 10 + 1 \times 1\\
&=40 + 1\\
&=41\\
&= \text{Forty One}
\end{aligned}
Following are some interesting features about the number 41 that we must know
41 is an odd number. We can identify an odd number by looking at the one's place number. If one place has 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9 in it, it is an odd number. Another way to find out an odd number is by dividing it by 2
\frac{41}{2}=20.5
Since 41 divided by 2 is not a whole number, it is an odd number.
41 is a prime number. This means that the only two numbers which can completely divide the number 41 are the number itself (41) and the number 1.
41 is not a perfect square. As we can find the square root of 41, it is not a whole number.
\begin{aligned}
&\sqrt[2](41) = 6.403
\end{aligned}
41 is not a perfect cube.
\begin{aligned}
&\sqrt[3](41) = 3.448
\end{aligned}
You can find out the detailed other number in words article list below:-
41 can be written as Forty One in words.
According to the place value system, 1 is in the one's place, and 4 is in the tens place. Referring to the table, we saw before if 4 is in the tens place, the number will start with Forty. Therefore, 41 gets written as Forty One in words.
Since 41 is a prime number, the only two numbers that can divide it are 41 and 1. Therefore 5 will not completely divide the number.
\begin{aligned}
&\frac {41}{5} = 8.5
\end{aligned}
Whole numbers are a set of numbers that include all the natural numbers and 0. They are numbers that have no fractions or decimal points.
above equation can be solved as follows
\begin{aligned}
&21 + 20 = 41\\
&\hspace{1.33cm}= \text{Forty One}
\end{aligned}
