Early humans used different symbols to show numbers as ancient farmers, traders, and merchants make use of tally marks to show quantities, where a standing line is drawn for four consecutive counts and every fifth count is shown by cutting off the four lines.
Since ancient times, the digits of decimal number systems have been in use. Slowly, Indian Mathematicians had been working on the development of the decimal number system. Around the 7th century in India, this system got its shape in a fully developed format which is widely used today all over the world as its the most relevant and easiest possible to use this number system which works on the base of 10.
This system is also known as the Indo–Arabic numeral system, and it is the most common system for the representation of numbers.
It is important for people to learn numbers, as every concept and idea in mathematics has numbers included in them. Numbers have a very important role in day-to-day life as well. In this method, ten unique symbols are used to represent any number. These symbols include 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 6, 7, 8, and 9.
Numbers form the base of Mathematics. We can write the numbers in words easily based on their place value of digits such as ones, tens, thousands, etc.
10 can be written as Ten in words. If you have saved Rs. 10, then you can write it as, “I just saved Ten Rupees”. Ten is the cardinal number word for the number 10 which usually denotes a quantity.

By using the place value chart we can easily identify the place for each digit in the given number and we can also write the numbers in words. For the number 10, we can see that the digits in units = 0, and tens = 1.

Ten is the sum of the first four consecutive whole numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4 and the sum of the first three prime numbers 2, 3, and 5.
Start with the basics by writing the numbers from 1 to 10 with their spellings on a piece of paper.
Memorize the spellings from 1 to 10 as the basics of all the numbers rely on these numbers.
After 10, the number 11 is written as eleven and 12 is written as twelve.
After the number 12, we have to write numbers from 13 to 19, by adding ‘teen’ as suffixes like thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, etc.
After the number 19, 20 is written as a prolonged form of two, i.e., twenty.
After twenty, for 21-29, the combination includes twenty followed by the word for the unit digit. for example, twenty-one, twenty-two, twenty-three, and so on.
Once you are done with the above point, you will have to memorize the multiples of 10, for example, twenty for 20, thirty for 30, forty for 40, fifty for 50, and so on.
