TWELVE is a natural number which comes after 11 and before 13. Twelve is an “Even” number which makes it “composite” as well. In Roman numerals it is written as XII. In Greek Numerals it is written as IB'. The number Twelve has several names in different languages that are derived from old French Dozain like Dozen in English, Dozijn in Dutch, Dutzend in German and Dussin in Sweden. The Jersey number of legendary cricket player Yuvraj Singh is 12.
TWELVE is an even number that means when we divide the number Twelve by 2 then it gives the remainder as zero. For example: 2,4,6,8,10 and so on…are also even.
TWELVE is a composite number that has 6 divisors 1,2,3,4,6 and 12.
The multiples of TWELVE are 24, 36, 48 and so on..
TWELVE is the smallest abundant number. Abundant number is the number for which the sum of the divisors is greater than the number itself.(1+2+3+4+6=16) which is greater than 12. That's why it is called the smallest abundant integer.
TWELVE is also a natural number. Natural numbers are used for counting and ordering like 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and so on…
A number is an arithmetic value that is used to denote quantity. A Number is used to count, measure and denote. For example 12 is the symbol that denotes TWELVE.
There are various kind of number, these are as follows:
Natural number:
Natural numbers are those which we used in counting and ordering.
Example:1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9…. till infinity.
Whole number:
Whole numbers are the natural number starting with 0.
Example:0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9…
Integers:
An integer is a whole number. It can be positive, negative or zero.
Negative numbers are the additive inverse of corresponding positive numbers.
For example:
Positive integers: 4, 20, 36, 48.
Negative integers: -4, -20, -36, -48.
Zero:0
Rational number:
Rational numbers are the number that exists in the form of numerator and denominator (p/q) where q cannot be equal to 0.
For example: 5/9, 7/23 etc…
Irrational number:
Irrational numbers are the numbers which are not rational. That means the number that cannot be expressed in the form of p/q.
For example: √2, √7 etc…
Real numbers:
Real numbers include rational numbers as well as irrational numbers.
Rational numbers are (⅝ , 7/13 )
Irrational numbers are (√3, √8)
Complex numbers:
Complex numbers are the numbers that are expressed as the form of (p+iq).
Whereas real numbers are expressed as (p+q).
In the complex number, i is an imaginary number that is called an iota. The value of iota is √(-1).
For example: (3+7i, 6-5i ).
So, 12 is a natural number, whole number, positive integer, rational number, real number as well as a complex number.
Even number:
Even numbers are those numbers when divided by 2 gives the remainder as zero.
The unit digit of an even number is always 0,2,4,6,8.
For example: 2,4,56,38…
Odd number:
When a number divided by 2 does not give 0 as remainder then the number is called an odd number.
For example: 1,3,5,7,9….
So, 12 is an even number.
Prime number:
Prime numbers are the whole number greater than 1 which are only divided by either 1 or itself.
For example: 2,3,5,7,11 etc…
Composite number:
Composite numbers are the numbers which are not prime numbers. It has more than two factors.
For example: 12, 9, 30 etc…
Here, 12 is a composite number.
Decimal number:
Decimal numbers are representations of integers and non-integer parts of a number.
The integer and non-integer part of a number are separated by a point.
For example: 5.3, 67.5
Fractions:
Fractions are the way of denoting some part of a whole thing.
It consists of numerator and denominator, the numerator denotes the actual number of parts available and denominator denotes the total number of parts as a whole.
For example: we have a pizza, we sliced it into four pieces. Then each piece is 1/4th of the whole pizza.
Number system
The system of arranging the numbers in an order is called a number system. It is the mathematical representation of denoting the number using digits or symbols.
There are four common types of number systems.
These are:
Binary number system
Decimal number system
Octal number system
Hexadecimal number system
The base of the binary number system is 2.
The base of the decimal number system is 10.
The base of the octal number system is 8.
The base of the hexadecimal number system is 16.

The first five multiples of twelve are 12, 24, 36, 48, 60.. We can get multiples of a number by multiplying it with 1, 2, 3,4, 5 and so on….
