The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released the draft Class 10th date sheet for students based on the board exam analysis. As per the National Education Policy 2020 recommendations, the board developed a new scheme for conducting the CBSE Class 10 examination twice a year. The Phase 1 CBSE 10th Board exam will be held from February 15 to March 6, 2026, and is considered the main examination. Whereas, the CBSE Phase 2 exams will be held from May 5 to 21, 2026, as an improvement exam. The final CBSE 10th date sheet will be released in November 2025.

Class 10 CBSE Date Sheet 2026 for Practical Exams

The CBSE practical exams for winter-bound schools will be conducted in November-December 2025, for winter-bound schools, while the practical exams for all other CBSE-affiliated schools will be held in January-February 2026. Last year, the CBSE 10th practical exams commenced on November 5 and concluded on December 5, 2024. About Last Year's CBSE Class 10 Board Exams

  • Last year, the CBSE 10th date sheet was released on November 20, 2024. The board conducted the CBSE 10th board theory exams from February 15 to March 18, 2025, and the CBSE 10th practical exams were held from January 1 to February 14, 2025.

CBSE Class 10 Calculation of Percentage

The CBSE Class 10 calculation criteria say that no overall division/distinction/aggregate shall be awarded. If a Class 10 student has over five subjects, then determining the best five subjects may be taken by the admitting institution or employer.

The board does not calculate/declare/inform the percentage of marks. If the percentage of marks is required for higher education or in employment, the calculation, if any, may be done by the admitting institution or employer.

CBSE Board 10th Exam Guidelines

  • When appearing for the exam, students need to bring their CBSE 10th admit card with them. Without the CBSE admit card, entry into the examination hall will not be permitted.

Yes, you can apply for 12th grade as a private candidate .You will need to follow the registration process and fulfill the eligibility criteria set by CBSE for private candidates.If you haven't given the 11th grade exam ,you would be able to appear for the 12th exam directly without having passed 11th grade. you will need to give certain tests in the school you are getting addmission to prove your eligibilty.

According to cbse norms candidates who have completed class 10th, class 11th, have a gap year or have failed class 12th can appear for admission in 12th class.for admission in cbse board you need to clear your 11th class first and you must have studied from CBSE board or any other recognized and equivalent board/school.

You are not eligible for cbse board but you can still do 12th from nios which allow candidates to take admission in 12th class as a private student without completing 11th.
