To be considered as having successfully cleared the board exams, students must meet the following criteria for CBSE passing marks:
Obtain a grade higher than 'E' (equivalent to at least 33% marks) in all five subjects of the external exams conducted during the main or compartmental exams.
For subjects that involve practical work, candidates must secure a minimum of 33% marks in the theory portion as well as 33% marks in the practical portion. Additionally, aspirants should have obtained at least 33% marks in the overall aggregate.
If students achieve a grade above 'E' in all subjects of the internal assessment, they will be awarded a pass certificate by the Board, unless they are exempted from internal assessment.
Students have to add up the marks of the five main subjects they appeared for in the exam. Then divide the number by 500 and multiply the result by 100. For example:
Marks obtained in 5 subjects- 450 Marks
Maximum marks of 5 subjects- 500
Divide 450/500=0.9; Now multiply 0.9*100=90
90% is the marks received by students in 5 subjects
