Is 75% Enough for CBSE Class 12?

According to the grading system of CBSE, 75% is fairly enough for the class 12th board examination. This may not seem to be the top score; however, it still provides several college and career opportunities for the students. 12th marks are highly important for the future of the students to get admission in their desired college and choose their career path. Moreover, there are some job opportunities, like government jobs, where class 12th marks are required.

75% Marks Can Open IIT Doors

The path for admission in the India Institute of Technology (IIT) is appearing in the JEE Advanced exam, and 75% marks in the 12th board exam satisfy the eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced. Candidates need to score higher than the JEE Main cut-off marks to get admission in IITs.

College and Career Opportunities

The cut-off for the majority of colleges can easily be cleared with 75% marks in the Class 12th CBSE board examination. Some private colleges also have their own admission test, which the students need to qualify for separately, and their board exams may not be considered. The central-level universities, including Central University of South Bihar, Central University of Karnataka, and Central University of Haryana, only require up to 50% to 60% of marks for admission.

Students can choose from the wide options of career opportunities available, like taking admission for UG in a reputed college, preparing for government examinations like SSC, Banking, or Railway.

Students who have appeared in the competitive examination, like NEET or JEE, then 75% is completely adequate for admission after cracking the entrance exam.

UG Courses and Scholarship Opportunities

There are several streams which the students can choose from after they qualify for their 12th examination. Students can choose streams like arts, science, and commerce. Other than these, candidates can also choose law, fashion design, and diploma courses based on their interests.

What is a Perfect Score in the CBSE Class 12 Exam?

A perfect score in the CBSE Class 12 exam is 100 out of 100 in all the subjects. Several students achieve the perfect score every year.. The students who score up to 75% and those who are top-rankers scoring up to 90% to 95% can not be compared, as their preparation methods, answering techniques, and accuracy are different.

The main objective of the students appearing for the board exam must be to qualify in all the subjects. A good score can never be measured as it completely depends on the performance of the students, and it can never be the same for all of them. Whether they score 75% or 95%, they can have several career opportunities in their future.

Hello,

No, it’s not true that GSEB (Gujarat Board) students get first preference in college admissions.

Your daughter can continue with CBSE, as all recognized boards CBSE, ICSE, and State Boards (like GSEB) which are equally accepted for college admissions across India.

However, state quota seats in Gujarat colleges (like medical or engineering) may give slight preference to GSEB students for state-level counselling, not for all courses.

So, keep her in CBSE unless she plans to apply only under Gujarat state quota. For national-level exams like JEE or NEET, CBSE is equally valid and widely preferred.

Hope it helps.

BEST REGARDS

Hello,

Since you have passed 10th and 12th from Delhi and your residency is Delhi, but your domicile is UP, here’s how NEET counselling works:

1. Counselling Eligibility: For UP NEET counselling, your UP domicile makes you eligible, regardless of where your schooling was. You can participate in UP state counselling according to your NEET rank.

2. Delhi Counselling: For Delhi state quota, usually 10th/12th + residency matters. Since your school and residency are in Delhi, you might also be eligible for Delhi state quota, but it depends on specific state rules.

So, having a Delhi Aadhaar will not automatically reject you in UP counselling as long as you have a UP domicile certificate.

Hope you understand.
