    Post Matric Scholarship 2025-26

    Eligible students can apply as fresh/renewal applicants through the official post-matric scholarship portal. Post-matric scholarship benefits apply to all acknowledged schools/institutions offering classes from 11 onwards, as well as full-time and distance education courses for post-graduate degree/diploma programs.     Post Matric Scholarship 2025-26 - Eligibility Criteria

    Mentioned below are the category-wise eligibility criteria for post-matric scholarships:

    Eligibility Criteria for Minority Students

    • Students from these six minority communities, namely Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, and Parsi (Zoroastrian), who are enrolled in educational institutions in India and meet the other criteria outlined, are eligible to seek the scholarship.

    • Students will receive a post-matric scholarship if their parents' or guardians' yearly income from all sources is not more than INR 2,50,000. They need to provide an income certificate when they join courses that last for more than one year.

    • Students who pursue their education through correspondence/distance/online education system are also eligible.

    Eligibility Criteria for Students with Disabilities

    • Must be a citizen of India.

    • Students who have a disability with at least 40% impairment and possess a disability certificate issued by a qualified medical authority are eligible.

    • A family can get benefits for up to two disabled children. If the second child is a twin, both twins will be eligible for the scholarship under the post-matric scheme.

    • The scholarship for any class is valid for only one year. If a student has to repeat a class, they will not receive the scholarship for the second or subsequent years.

    Post-Matric Scholarship 2025-26 - Application Process

    To apply for a post-matric scholarship through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) as a fresh applicant, students can follow these steps:

    • Go to the website - scholarships.gov.in.

    • Under the ‘Applicant’ corner, click on the ‘New Registration’ option on the homepage.

    • Go through the guidelines of registration and fill in all the academic and personal details carefully before submitting. Students must know that no correction/ editing is allowed after submission.

    • After successful registration, log in to the NSP portal using your newly created credentials.

    • Once logged in, go to the ’Apply for Scholarship’ section. Select the post-matric scholarship scheme you are eligible for.

    • Complete the application form by providing accurate information and uploading the necessary supporting documents.

    • After successfully submitting your post-matric scholarship application, you may receive a confirmation page. Take a screenshot of it for your records.

    • Monitor the status of your post-matric scholarship application regularly.

    Note - Students eligible for renewal are advised not to apply in the fresh category as duplicate applications will be rejected by NSP.

    Post Matric Scholarship 2025-26 - Renewal Applications

    • Students who had been selected for the post-matric scholarship in the previous academic year through NSP and the same course is continuing in the current year will be considered as renewal.

    • For renewal of application, students need to log in to the NSP 2.0 portal with the previous year's Application ID and Password and then have to update only minimal details such as - fee details, previous year marks etc. in the existing application.

    • In case a student has forgotten the password to apply for Renewal, he/she may use the ‘Forgot Password’ option to reset the password.

    Post Matric Scholarship 2025-26 - Documents Required

    For students receiving a scholarship of less than INR 50,000 /-, there's no need to upload any documents on the portal. Instead, these students should provide the necessary documents directly to their schools or institutions. The list of required documents to be submitted is as follows:

    • Aadhaar ID or, if not available, Aadhaar enrollment receipt

    • Disability certificate issued by the competent authority designated by the District Medical officer/civil surgeon of a govt. Hospital (if applicable)

    • A parental income certificate issued by the designated authority as per the scheme (duly signed by the revenue authority, form 16 is not acceptable.

    • Copy of the previous year's mark sheet

    • Tuition fee receipt

    Students with more than INR 50,000/- scholarship amount need to upload the following documents in the portal before final submission:

    • Student photograph

    • A scanned copy of the parental income certificate (duly signed by revenue authority/tehsildar.(form 16 is not acceptable)

    • Scanned copy of Aadhaar card/Aadhaar enrollment no.

    • A scanned copy of disability certificate issued by the competent authority designated by the District Medical Officer/civil surgeon of a govt. Hospital (if applicable)

    • A scanned copy of the previous year's mark sheet

    • Tuition fee receipt of current course year

    • Scanned copy of bank passbook/cancelled cheque leaf
