National Scholarship Portal Status Check 2024-25

Students can check the status of their applied scholarships via the official website of NSP. Mentioned below are the steps to log in to NSP portal and check the scholarship application status:

Step 1 - Official Website

Visit the official website of the National Scholarship Portal, scholarships.gov.in.

Step 2 - Applicant Corner

Go to the ‘Student Corner’ and click on the ‘Previous Year Application Status’ button.

Step 3 - Login to Account

Select the academic year and use your application ID and password to log in to your NSP account. Students who do not have an account will need to register first.

Step 4 - Dashboard

Candidates will now be redirected to their dashboard. Click on the appropriate link which will provide information about scholarship application. Click on the ‘Check Status’ button to check the status of your applied scholarship.

Step 5 - Scholarship Application Details

Select the specific scholarship or application for which the status needs to be checked. The current status of the scholarship application will be displayed on the screen.

National Scholarship Portal - Fresh Application Process

Students who do not have a OTR will be required to create one by following the steps given below. After creating an OTR number, they can apply for the desired scholarship and also check its status. Read below to know the steps of creating a user OTR number and password on NSP:

• For fresh applications begin by selecting the ‘Student Login’ option on the National Scholarships Portal's homepage.
• Follow the system's instructions to fill out the application form accurately. Save your entries by clicking the save button.
• Upon saving, a ‘Temporary ID’ will be provided to the student.
• The system will guide the applicant to submit the ‘Temporary ID’ along with the date of birth for further details.
• After entering subsequent details and completing the registration process, click the submit button.
• A ‘Permanent Registration ID’ will be generated upon successful submission. This ID or OTR number is essential for both renewal applications and tracking the status of the submitted scholarship application.

National Scholarship Portal - Renewal Application Process

• Renewal Students have to apply with their Application ID and Date of Birth which they registered the previous year.
• Student can also use the ‘Forgot Application ID’ option to retrieve their ID. Only those students who had received the scholarship payments last year from NSP 1.0 would be able to renew.

Steps to Retrieve Forgotten Application ID on NSP:

• Go to the website, scholarships.gov.in.
• Click on the ‘Login’ button on the homepage. Thereafter, click on the ‘Renewal Application’ button.
• Now, click on ‘Forgot Application ID.’
• The forgotten application ID can be recovered by providing the previously registered bank account number.
• Enter the bank account details and captcha code as shown in the sample image below:

• Click on ‘Check Application ID’. The registered applicant ID will be displayed on the screen. Note it down for future reference.

Retrieve Forgotten Password on NSP:

• Open the website, scholarships.gov.in.
• Click on the ‘Login’ button on the homepage. Now, click on the ‘Renewal Application’ button.
• Now, click on the ‘Recover Password’ button.
• Fill in the ‘Application ID’ and captcha code as shown in the sample image below:

• Click on the ‘Next’ button.
• You will be asked to enter some information to verify your identity. This could include your registered mobile number, email ID or DOB.
• Based on the information provided, you may receive an OTP on your registered mobile number or an email with a link to reset your password.
• Enter the OTP or click on the password reset link, and you will be directed to a page where you can set a new password for your National Scholarship Portal account.
