Approximately 300 - 350 candidates are selected.

NDA stands for National Defence Academy. NDA exam is a national-level defence entrance exam conducted by UPSC in India for recruitment to the Army, Navy, and Air Force Wings.

  • Every year, the NDA Exam is conducted twice.

  • The two stages are – Written Exam and SSB Interview.

  • The written exam is conducted in two sections which are GAT (General Ability Test) and Mathematics.

  • The NDA training period lasts for 3 years after selection.

Eligibility for Writing NDA Exam:

  • For Army:

Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent examination conducted by State Education Board or University.

  • For Navy and Air Force:

Intermediate (10+2) with physics and mathematics included or equivalent exam conducted by State Education Board or University.

Pass Marks for NDA?

The questions in the NDA exam are of MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) type. The exam is held in Hindi and English languages. Candidates are required to score a minimum of 25% marks in each subject to clear the NDA written examination.

What is The Time Duration of The Exam?

The written portion of the NDA exam will take place over the course of 5 hours in 2022, with 2.5 hours allotted for maths and 2.5 hours for GAT.

  • Mathematics: 300 marks

  1. Algebra

  2. Matrices and determinants

  3. Trigonometry

  4. Analytical Geometry of two and three dimensions

  5. Differential calculus

  6. Integral calculus and differential equations

  7. Vector algebra

  8. Statistics and Probability

  • General Ability Test: 600 marks

Consists of English, General Knowledge, Physics, Chemistry and General Science.
