Introduction

Tables are the basic form of consecutive numbers that we use by multiplying a specific number. It is easy to solve any calculation with the help of a multiplication table chart.

A Multiplication chart is the best way to learn tables. In the chart, one set of a specific numbers is written in the left column, and we multiply it with consecutive numbers starting from 1, and get the final result by multiplying.

Tables are extremely helpful, especially when you are doing Math, and not just Maths, many technical subjects require mathematical calculations, and tables are a huge part of doing a calculation. Multiplying within seconds makes the calculation easier, and quick.

How To Calculate Tables Quickly

Although, it is true that everyone cannot learn every table, since there is a table for each number that exists in Maths. But there are a few tricks or solutions that we can use to calculate tables quickly and simply.

So, there is a way that we can use to make a table’s calculation easy and quick. The numbers which are followed by zero are very easy to calculate faster. We just need to memorize that particular number’s table and the resultant numbers will be followed by the number of zeros it has.

Let’s understand this with a Mathematical Table:

Table of 400

4 x 1 = 4

00

400

4 x 2 = 8

00

800

4 x 3 = 12

00

1200

4 x 4 = 16

00

1600

4 x 5 = 20

00

2000

4 x 6 = 24

00

2400

4 x 7 = 28

00

2800

4 x 8 = 32

00

3200

4 x 9 = 36

00

3600

4 x 10 = 40

00

4000

We can calculate more than this and for any number of times we want, for example, what will we get by multiplying 400 by 12?

Just multiply 12 by 4 and follow the result with two zeros.

  1. 12\times 4=48

CodeCogsEqn (48).png

  1. 48 and add two zeros, which is 4800

5 Solved Problems

  1. Simplify 400\times 15+398

CodeCogsEqn (49).png

Sol: = 400\times15+398

CodeCogsEqn (49).png

= 6000 + 398

= 6398

  1. Evaluate 400\times(10+3)

CodeCogsEqn (50).png

Sol: = 400\times(10+3)

CodeCogsEqn (50).png

It can be solved with two methods:

Method 1: = 400\times(10+3)

CodeCogsEqn (50).png

= 400\times(13)

CodeCogsEqn (51).png

= 5200

Method 2: = 400\times(10+3)

CodeCogsEqn (52).png

= (400\times 10)+(400\times3)

CodeCogsEqn (53).png

= 4000 + 1200

= 5200

  1. Solve \frac{800}{200}\times12

CodeCogsEqn (54).png

Sol: = \frac{800}{200}\times12

CodeCogsEqn (54).png

= 400\times12

CodeCogsEqn (55).png

= 4800

  1. Solve 146+400\times 20-34

CodeCogsEqn (56).png

Sol: = 146+400\times 20-34

CodeCogsEqn (56).png

= 146 + 8000 – 34

= 8146 – 34

= 8112

  1. Square of 400

Sol: = 400\times400

CodeCogsEqn (57).png

= 160000

Times Table Of 400

Times table basically represents that when a number is added to itself the number of times equal to the number we intend to multiply it to, the repeated addition yields the same result as multiplication. It is shown below in the table.

400 × 1 = 400

400

400 × 2 = 800

400+400=800

400 × 3 = 1200

400+400+400=1200

400 × 4 = 1600

400+400+400+400=1600

400 × 5 = 2000

400+400+400+400+400=2000

400 × 6 = 2400

400+400+400+400+400+400=2400

400 × 7 = 2800

400+400+400+400+400+400+400=2800

400 × 8 = 3200

400+400+400+400+400+400+400+400=3200

400 × 9 = 3600

400+400+400+400+400+400+400+400+400=3600

400 × 10 = 4000

400+400+400+400+400+400+400+400+400+400=4000
