Multiplication is a mathematical operation that involves multiplying two or more numbers to find their product. It is denoted using the multiplication symbol (×), and it is performed by calculating the product of the multiplicand (the number being multiplied) and the multiplier (the number by which the multiplicand is multiplied). Multiplication is an important concept in mathematics that is used in many different fields and applications. It is a fundamental operation that is used to perform calculations such as finding the total cost of items in a shopping cart or determining the area of a rectangle. Additionally, multiplication is used in many other fields, such as engineering and science, to calculate the total amount of materials needed for a project or to find the total number of particles in a sample. In short, multiplication is a crucial mathematical operation that is essential for understanding and working with many other concepts in mathematics and for solving a wide range of problems in a variety of fields.
The number of times we add the composite number 150, we will get the multiplication or the product of 150.
The table of 150 is obtained by multiplying 150 by a natural number. The students are made to use multiplication tables from lower classes only. Multiplication refers to the repeated addition of a particular number.
150\times 1=150 | 150 |
150\times 2=300 | 150+150=300 |
150\times 3=450 | 150+150+150=450 |
150\times 4=600 | 150+150+150+150=600 |
150\times 5=750 | 150+150+150+150+150=750 |
150\times 6=900 | 150+150+150+150+150+150=900 |
150\times 7=1050 | 150+150+150+150+150+150+150=1050 |
150\times 8=1200 | 150+150+150+150+150+150+150+150=1200 |
150\times 9=1350 | 150+150+150+150+150+150+150+150+150=1350 |
150\times10=1500 | 150+150+150+150+150+150+150+150+150+150=1500 |
Problem 1:
Find the value of 150\times 11+ 30.
Ans:
From the table, 150\times 11 = 1650
= 150\times 11+ 30
= 1650+30
= 1680
So, the value of 150\times 11+30 is 1680.
Problem 2:
Find the value of 150\times 20 - 80.
Ans: The value for 150\times20=3000
= 150\times 20-80
=3000-80
=2920
Thus the value of 150\times 20-80 is, 2920
Problem 3:
Find the value for 150 \times 16
Ans: From the table, 150 \times 16 = 2400
Problem 4:
What is 150\times 10+11-5
Ans: From the table 150 \times 10 = 1500
= 150 \times 10+11-5
= 1500 + 11 - 5
= 1500 + 6
= 1506
Thus the value of 150\times 10+11-5 is 1506.
Problem 5:
Find the value of 150+150+150.
Solution: We can write it as 3 times 150, thus
= 3 \times 150
=450
Thus the value of 150+150+150 is 450.
150 is a natural number.
The factors of 150 are 1,2,3, 5,6,10,15,25,30,50,75,150 thus 150 has 12 factors.
The positive pair factors of 150 are (1,150),(2,75),(3,50),(5,30),(6,25), and (10,15).
The order in which numbers are multiplied does not matter when it comes to the result of the multiplication. This property is known as the commutative property of multiplication, which states that the order in which numbers are multiplied does not affect the result.
Multiplication tables are a fundamental concept in mathematics, and they have many real-life applications. For example, multiplication tables are used in calculating prices when shopping, determining how much paint is needed to cover a wall, or figuring out how many people can be seated at a table. Additionally, multiplication tables are used in many other areas of math, such as algebra and calculus, which have a wide range of real-life applications in fields such as science, engineering, and finance.
