In several countries outside of India, farming technology has become advanced and highly scientific.

The Indian government is aware of the widespread practice of deforestation, through the clearing of forests for agriculture, in certain regions of the country. To address this issue, regulations have been put in place to manage and sustain agricultural activities. Despite the efforts of the government, the majority of farmers in India still live in poverty and lack access to basic necessities such as regular ration.

To improve the living conditions of farmers, the government has implemented various schemes aimed at enhancing their livelihood. These include providing low-interest loans with extended repayment periods to farmers, to ease their financial burden.

Subsistence farming | Subsistence farming is described as family farming because it meets the needs of the farmer’s family. It required a low level of technology and household labour.

Indian farmers contribute almost 18 per cent of the Indian economy, which is high in all sectors. By contributing most to the Indian economy, they don't have enough money to live luxurious lives.

Issues Faced by Indian Farmers

Nowadays, Indian farmers' conditions are horrible. Every week or month, we hear news of farmer suicides. Additionally, farmers now have more complicated lives compared to years before. The issue is that they don't make enough money. Because most of the farmers sell their crops directly to a buyer at a nearby grocery store or sell to chefs at a very low price; thus, a farmer receives significantly less.

Farmers lack the funds to send their children to school. Sometimes things worsen to the point that they are not even getting sufficient food. Thus farmers go into depression and do not enjoy a decent way of life. After that, they consequently make suicide attempts.

Global warming is another significant contributor to farmers' poor conditions. Farmers are also impacted because global warming is negatively affecting our world in every manner. Seasonal changes have been delayed as a result of global warming. They are not receiving nourishment because different crops have their season to ripen. Crops require sufficient rainfall and sunlight to grow. Therefore, if the crops don't get it, they are damaged. One of the leading causes of farms being destroyed is this.
