Introduction

The number 100 is referred to as a hundred. One hundred is ten tens. In other words, ten times ten is also a hundred. Similarly, a hundred is the first three-digit natural number with the digit one followed by two zeroes.

Ten (10)

Ten is the first 2-digit number in numerology, preceded by nine (the largest one-digit number) and succeeded by eleven. It is an even and composite number. An even number is when a number is a multiple of 2, while a composite is any number, whether even or odd, which can be divided to give zero as a remainder, including one and itself.

Ten is neither a perfect square nor a perfect cube. A number will be called a perfect square when the square root of the number is also an integer. A similar rule will also be applicable to the perfect cube. The square root and cube root of ten is not integer number. Therefore, it is not a perfect square or perfect cube.

Ten is also a mark of the tens-digit place to represent the position and value of the digit. For example, 2 has the place value of tens in the number 20, which means the number is 2 times 10. Therefore, it is twenty.

Hundred (100)

While a hundred is written in numbers as 100. It is the first 3-digit number that comes after ninety-nine and before one hundred one. Like ten, a hundred is also an even and composite number. Hundred, when expressed as a percentage, denotes the full amount of an object/entity.

A hundred is a perfect square but not a perfect cube. A number will be called a perfect square and a perfect cube when the square root and cube root of the number is also an integer, respectively. Since the square root of a hundred is a ten, which is a positive integer, we can say that a hundred is a perfect square. But the cube root is not an integer, so a hundred is not a perfect cube.

Like ten, hundred also marks the third digit of the number to represent the position and value of the digit. For example, 2 has the place value of hundred in the number 200, which means the number is 2 times 100. Therefore, it is two hundred.
