How Many Months are There In a Century

Introduction

A century is called 100 years. Ideally, since one year has 12 months, then 100 years should have 1200 months, followed by 10 decades, and around 5217 weeks. Since a leap year comes after every 4 years, in a century, there might be 24 or 25 leap years. Accordingly, there should be either 36524 days or 36525 days in a century.

Month

According to the calendar and mathematics, a month consists of 28 to 31 days. If we look at the calendar, a month usually has 4-5 weeks. There are 12 months in a year. These are January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, October, November, and December.

January, March, May, July, August, and November have 31 days, while April, June, October, and December have 30 days. On the other hand, only February is the month that has 28 days for the nonleap year. But, during the leap year, February has 29 days.

Year

In science, a year is completed when the earth has completed its revolution around the sun. In the calendar, a year is marked when 12 months are completed. A year is also equivalent to 52 weeks or 365 days. Generally every 4 years, leap year comes, which increases a day in the whole year, making the year consist of 366 days instead of 365 days.

In astronomy, the year holds different meanings with a slight variation in the time lengths. For example, the solar year, equivalent to 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes, and 46 seconds, is when the sun crosses the celestial equator moving towards the north. Other astronomical years are the anomalistic year, cosmic year, sidereal year, lunar year, etc.

Decade

The period of ten years is called a decade. For example, if someone wants to mention ten years, they would call it a decade. Also, a person’s first decade of life would be the 10th birthday of the person.

The word decade originated from late middle English through old french and late Latin (here, decădem). In the Greek language, a decade is written as dekás. In a decade, there are 120 months. A decade can also be equivalent to around 521 weeks and 3652-3653 days as there can be two or three leap years in a decade.

Century

A century is 100 years. A century is equivalent to 10 decades, 1200 months, around 5217 weeks, and 36524 or 36525 days. A century is equal to either 36524 or 26525 days in accordance with the number of leap years in a century, as in a century, there can be 24 or 25 leap years. If a cricketer has scored 100 runs, we would say, “he scored a century.” We are living in the 21st century, starting from 2001 to 2100.

The duration of this range is 100 years. That is why it is called the century. Also, the 1st century BC started from 100 BC to 1 BC. Ten centuries, i.e., 1000 years, is called a millennium. For example, 1000 BC to 1 BC is called the 1st millennium BC.
