Candidates must have passed the class 12 board exams.
Candidates who have been admitted to any IIT earlier are ineligible to apply. Candidates should also have secured at least 75% aggregate marks in their Class 12 or equivalent examination. For SC/ST/PwD candidates, the minimum marks requirement is 65%.
Only two attempts at the JEE Advanced exam may be made by candidates in back-to-back years. This rule applies whether they succeed or fail on the exam.
Candidates of any nationality may sit for the JEE Advanced exam, including foreign nationals, Overseas Indian Citizens, Persons of Indian Origin, and Indian Citizens. However, the NTA has set aside some requirements for foreign candidates.
Candidates who are foreign nationals must fulfil a unique set of JEE Advanced eligibility standards. Candidates are considered foreign nationals if they are not Indian citizens or if their parents are not Indian. Candidates who don't meet the OCI/PIO requirements are also considered foreign nationals.
Foreign nationals are not entitled to any reservations under any categories, per GOI regulations.
