For qualifying for BDS or also known as Bachelor of Dental Surgery, the candidate should attain the minimum of 450 marks in the National Eligibility cum Entrance test.

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) scores help the candidate to get a seat in government Dental College as well as in the MBBS. It offers opportunities to study in both government and private medical colleges in India, as well as the opportunity to pursue a medical degree overseas.

The cutoff of BDS is less than that of MBBS. The cutoff varies from category to category and these categories are General/SC/ST/OBC. The cutoff marks for various categories are as follows:

  • SC/ST/OBC PwD 121-108

Eligibility Criteria For BDS Through NEET

The eligibility criteria to take up a medical seat in India are as follows:

  • Student/Candidate should attain minimum qualifying NEET score.

  • Students/Candidates must have PCB(Physics, chemistry, biology) as their main subject in class 12th.

  • Student/Candidate must pass out grade 12 from a recognized board with a minimum aggregate of 45% in all the subjects

  • The seats of BDS are allotted through NEET counseling done by the medical counseling Committee (MCC), and the counseling is done in 3 sessions.
