In chemistry, there are 18 groups in the periodic table. But as per the modern periodic table, there are eight groups in the periodic table. The elements of groups 1, 2, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17 are known as the main group. The elements of groups 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, and 12 are known as the transition element. Group 18 is called noble gases or inert gases. Their outermost shell is filled. Due to this stable electronic configuration, they generally don’t react with the other elements. The periodic table is two a dimensional structured table. Their elements are placed in table cells in the reading order of ascending atomic number. The table columns are called groups, the rows are called periods. These breaks at the end of each period occur according to a periodicity of the physical and chemical properties of the elements.
A tabular is the arrangement of the elements in groups (vertical column) and periods (horizontal rows) that highlight the trends in the properties of elements is called a Periodic Table.
There are 18 groups The following names for specific groups in the periodic table are in most use:
Group 1: alkali metals.
Group 2: alkaline earth metals.
Group 11: coinage metals
Group 15: pnictogens
Group 16: chalcogens.
Group 17: halogens.
Group 18: noble gases.
Hydrogen is the weakest element in the periodic table.
An Element which is liquids at room temperature is mercury & bromine.
Potassium is found naturally in many foods & as a supplement. Its main role in the body is to help maintain normal fluid levels inside our cells.
Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe.; Helium is the second.
A Human body is made up of many elements like carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen, calcium, and phosphorus etc.
