In this article, we will learn about Niti Aayog, which has a total of Four full-time members in this NITI aayog. NITI Aayog is established on January 1, 2015. The NITI Aayog’s full form is “National Institution for Transforming India”. It was created as the planning commission's predecessor.
NITI Aayog is the premier policy Think Tank of the Government of India, providing both directional and policy inputs. While designing strategic and long-term policies and programmes for the Government of India, the National Institution for Transforming India also provides relevant technical advice to the Centre and states.
The NITI Aayog performs various functions, which are divided into four main heads:
Design policy and programme framework.
Foster co-operative.
Monitoring and evaluation.
The think-tank, and Knowledge and Innovation Hub.
The composition of the National Institution of Transforming India is as
Chairperson: The Prime Minister of India.
Governing Council: It comprises the Chief Ministers of all the States and Chief Ministers of Union Territories of India.
Regional Councils: These are formed to address specific issues and contingencies impacting more than one state or region. These are developed for a specified tenure. These are convened by the Prime Minister and comprise the Chief Minister of states and Lt. Governors of Union Territories in the region. These are chaired by the Chairperson of the NITI Aayog or his nominee.
Special Invitees: Experts, specialists and practitioners with relevant domain knowledge as special invitees nominated by the Prime Minister.
Full-time Organisational Framework: It comprises, in addition to the Prime Minister as the Chairperson:
Vice-Chairperson: He is appointed by the Prime Minister.
Full-time Members: They also enjoy the rank of a Minister of State.
Part-time members: Maximum of two persons, from leading universities, research organisations and other relevant institutions in an ex-officio capacity. Part-time members would be on a rotational basis.
Ex-Officio Members: A maximum of 4 members of the Union Council of Ministers to be nominated by the Prime Ministers.
Chief Executive Officer(CEO): He is appointed by the Prime Minister for a fixed tenure, in the rank of Secretary to the Government of India.
Secretariat: As deemed necessary.

Therefore, the NITI Aayog is based on the following seven pillars of effective governance:

Proactive in anticipating and responding to citizens' needs.
Participative, by the involvement of citizens.
Empowering women in all aspects.
Including all groups with particular attention to the SCs, STs, OBCs and minorities.
Equality of opportunity for the youth.
Transparency through the use of technology to make government visible and responsive.
