For example- 5 meters is to be converted into feet. To know the measurement in feet, we need to multiply 5 by 3.28 and hence, we get the answer 16.4 feet.

3) Converting the answer into inches - The next step while converting meters to feet involves converting the answer into inches. Sometimes, the answer is too long; we need to convert it into inches to make the answer short and simple. To do so, we must take the decimal point and everything after it and multiply it by 12.

For example, 5 meters we need to convert into feet; we multiply 5 by 3.28 and get the answer 16.4. Later on, to simplify it, we take 0.4 and multiply it by 12 we get the answer 4.8. Hence the answer we finally get is 16 feet and 4.8 inches.
