How Many Attempts For NEET

There is no attempt limit for the NEET examination. NEET is an abbreviation for the National Eligibility Commitment Entrance Test. For those who want to pursue a career in medicine, a single-level national exam is administered, allowing them to apply for admission to medical programmes at the nation's several medical institutions. A number of entrance examinations that were formerly administered at the state level have been abolished as of 2020, making the exam the sole medical entrance exam that must be passed in order to apply for admission to AIIMS and JIPMER institutions.

As part of the One Nation, One Examination programme, the Indian government introduced the NEET exam as a replacement for the many exams that were previously administered. NEET is the only medical entrance exam at the UG level that uses this format; it is an offline test administered using pen and paper.

NEET Attempt Limit

There is no limit on the number of attempts for the NEET tests, according to the National Testing Agency, which oversees the exams. This is consistent with the NEET official website's assertion that "There is no cap for the number of attempts." The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare's letter number U.12023/16/2010-ME-II as of December 6, 2017, was then praised by the CBSE for the same.

As a result, the restriction on the number of tries will no longer be in effect. This means that the CBSE's implicit three-attempt rule is no longer valid.

According to the official announcement regarding NEET eligibility requirements, the rule is as follows:

Lower Age Limit: To be admitted to the first year of the UG (undergraduate) medical programme, a candidate must have reached the age of 17 at the time of application or have attained that age by December 31 of the same year of application.

Upper age limit: Previously, the candidate had to be 25 years old on the day of the exam, with a 5-year grace period for candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC-NCL and PwD categories. There is no maximum age as of yet. Anyone over the age of 17 may take the NEET examination as many times as necessary.
