There are four A4 sheets that you can obtain from an A2 sheet. Since time immemorial papers are so common to every person. Well, do you know the size of the paper that you often come across in a Xerox or photocopy shop? There are varieties of paper that you can use as sheets or as a notebook. Have you ever noticed the paper size that remains mentioned on the back of several notebooks? You may have heard terms like A4 sheet, A3 sheet, A2 sheet or otherwise. Before you count the number of A4 sheets that you can obtain from an A2 sheet, let us explore the sizes of the sheets. Let's examine it further by diving in.
The need for different sizes of paper can be understood as we discuss some of its requirements under the following points.
Paper sheets used for making long notebooks and short-sized notebooks are different.
Different-sized sheets are required for making envelopes, postcards, etc.
The print media requires some other size of paper sheets for their application.
Different drawings of various requirements need the availability of relevant sizes of pare sheets.
Preparation of the hard copies of wallpapers requires large-sized papers.
It is also evident as you observe various sizes of photo albums in any photoshop you visit
There are varieties of sizes allotted for the paper sheets which are named as A0, A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, etc.
The following are some of the available sizes of paper sheets.
The size of an A0 sheet is mm or inches.
The size of an A1 sheet is 594 X 841 mm or 23.4 X 33.1 inches.
The size of an A2 sheet is 420 X 594 mm or 16.5 X 23.4 inches.
The size of an A3 sheet is 297 X 420 mm or 11.7 X 16.5 inches.
The size of an A4 sheet is 210 X 297 mm or 8.3 X 11.7 inches.
The size of an A5 sheet is 148 X 210 mm or 5.8 X 8.3 inches.
The size of an A6 sheet is 105 X 148 mm or 4.1 X 5.8 inches.
The size of an A7 sheet is 74 X 105 mm or 2.9 X 4.1 inches.
The size of an A8 sheet is 52 X 74mm or 2.0 X 2.9 inches.
The size of an A9 sheet is 37 X 52 mm or 1.5 X 2.0 inches.
The size of an A10 sheet is 26 X 37 mm or 1.0 X 1.5 inches.
To find the number of A4 sheets that you can derive from a single A2 sheet, you have to follow these steps.
The area of cross-section of A4 sheet is 62,370 sq. mm.
On calculating the cross-sectional area of A2 sheet is 2,49,480 sq.mm.
Now, divide the area of an A2 sheet by that of the area of an A4 sheet.
On performing the above division, it reveals that the area of the A2 sheet is equal to four times the area of the A4 sheet.
Thus, it is clear that there are four A4 sheets that you can obtain from an A2 sheet.
The sizes of the sheets are standardized as per the ISO 216 standard and are given the name of A series.
The A2 sheet is half the size of an A1 sheet.
The A4 sheet is twice the size of an A5 sheet.
The A0 sheet is not the biggest sized sheet, though it is bigger than a volume of sheet sizes like A1, A2, etc.
The single sheet of an A4 sheet is 97.11 sq. inches.
The A2 sheet has an area of 386.1 sq. inches.
The area of an A4 sheet is one-fourth of the area of an A2 sheet.
