1.If a student is studying in class 6th or 9th they are taken based on aptitude test and an Interview.But for a student in 11th standard is taken based on X board marks.

A child studying in class 8 is not taken for admission in a Sainik school.He is allowed in class 9.

The expected cut off for Class 9 general category was 290-310 marks and for class 6 is 205-225 marks.You have not mentioned in which class he is in so assuming that he appeared in class 9 exam with 217 marks he cannot qualify as cut off is in between 290-310.To qualify a candidate has to score a minimum cut off mark.

To get admission in Class XI in sainik school, your 10th board marks are taken into consideration. The application form are available in the month of October in every school. One can also apply for the same online. There are about 33 sainik schools in India.

And the applications of all these exams have been closed. Unfortunately, you might have missed a chance for this year. You might have to consider 7th class entrance exams for your son next year.

The admissions in Sanik School are done for class 6 and class 9.For admission in class a candidate must be of age in between 10-12 years as on MArch 2020.Since he is in class 4 he need to appear for sanik school entrance when he is in class 5 so that he will get admission in class 6.To get admission you need to fill the online application form when registrations begin and make payment.There will be an entrance exam conducted and the candidates who pass will qualify will be shortlisted and called for medical test.Those who clear medical test will be given admission based on merit.

Seat matrix will be released few days prior to counselling. So you have to wait until that time. You have to check cutoff as per category and verify it. There are high chances of getting an admission as reservation category is available but the accurate result will be given by the board officials.

Cutoff for ST category is 152. Chances are there for admission so apply for admission process. There are many other procedures to be done to make sure the admission process is completed.
