Most students often make the mistake of giving the major chunk of time to difficult subjects like Maths, Science. But, to score an aggregate high percentage, the focus should be equal on all the subjects.
Prepare a subject-wise study plan
Focusing on all subjects is important, but students must also learn which subjects need to study when. The subjects which require practice like Mathematics should be studied in the evening time. While the subjects in which students need to understand the concepts should be studied in the morning time.
Make quick notes
While studying, make quick and short notes of all the important points. Keep a separate pocket-size notebook and pen down short notes of all the important topics in it. This way, students can just go through the notes easily and they do not have to read the entire chapter contents back and forth.
Take proper sleep
In such a crucial time, when each and every minute is important, do not forget to take proper sleep. At least 6 to 8 hours of sleep is important for the students. Also, try to sleep on time. Wake up early and memorize the topics from theoretical subjects.
Start revision early
Do not wait until the very last minute to start the revision. Start revision side by side during the preparation. Revise all the subjects alongside. Take out 1 hour every day to revise whatever you studied to date. Consider how much time is required to revise each subject and organise time wisely.
Practice sample papers
Practising sample papers is a must to analyse the preparation. Solve the CBSE sample question papers released by the board in the stipulated time and check the weak points. Know the type of questions asked and what is the difficulty level of the questions asked from a particular subject.
Keep calm and relax
During the entire exam preparation process, stay calm and healthy. Eat healthy food and stay hydrated. Stay away from distractions like social media, games, etc. But remember to take small breaks.
Here are some options you can explore to get admission in a good school even though admissions might be closed for many:
Waitlist: Many schools maintain waitlists after their initial application rounds close. If a student who secured a seat decides not to join, the school might reach out to students on the waitlist. So, even if the application deadline has passed, it might be worth inquiring with schools you're interested in if they have a waitlist and if they would consider adding you to it.
Schools with ongoing admissions: Some schools, due to transfers or other reasons, might still have seats available even after the main admission rush. Reach out to the schools directly to see if they have any open seats in 10th grade.
Consider other good schools: There might be other schools in your area that have a good reputation but weren't on your initial list. Research these schools and see if they have any seats available.
Focus on excelling in your current school: If you can't find a new school this year, focus on doing well in your current school. Maintain good grades and get involved in extracurricular activities. This will strengthen your application for next year if you decide to try transferring again.
