The Assam State School Education Board was founded on January 29, 1962 under the Government of Assam.
Its headquarters are located in Guwahati, Assam, India.
It is a state-level board, and its syllabus is more focused on regional education.
The board is recognised primarily within Assam only, and is mostly for students who wish to study in Assam.
