Students applying for admission to the CBSE or SEBA board must think carefully about all aspects before making a decision. Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) is a state-level board, described as more traditional in its approach and is suitable for students wanting to study in Assam. Whereas, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is a national-level board with a standardised curriculum across India. It is designed for students aiming for national entrance exams like JEE, NEET, CUET, etc. Both boards are unique and serve different purposes. The Assam State School Education Board was founded on January 29, 1962 under the Government of Assam.
Its headquarters are located in Guwahati, Assam, India.
It is a state-level board, and its syllabus is more focused on regional education.
The board is recognised primarily within Assam only, and is mostly for students who wish to study in Assam.

But if a student wishes to follow a wider recognised board and give competitive exams, then they can take admission to CBSE-affiliated schools.
