While studying BSc the student is eligible to appear for the Paper SB during the first year of the BSc only. So if you don't appear for the KVPY examination in your 1st year of BSc then even if you qualify the SB examination, then also you will be not awarded the scholarship amount. So giving the examination will be of no use for your career.

The cut off marks for KVPY for the year of 2021 will be published in the month of February or March of 2022 for the written test held in the month of November date was 7 November 2021. The cut off mark release for the general candidate for SC or ST candidate and PWD candidates also. Beta 2 marks of the previous year for kbp and for the sections of SA-53%, for SX-55%, SB -50%. On the basis of cat of mass in the examination of KVP which is mean by Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojona is a scholarship programme for the students who are interested in science as a career.

Department of Science and Technology, Government of India has started Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana or Young Scientist Incentive Plan for encouraging young scientists in pursuing research career courses in basis sciences upto Pre-Ph.D level.
The KVPY students receive a amout of Rs. 5000 monthly fellowship from first year of degree to final year of degree in courses like Integrated M.S or M.Sc, B.Sc or B. Statistics or B. Mathematics or B.S Maths/ Integrated M.S./M.Sc. They receive amount of Rs. 20,000 per year as annual contingency grant. After 3 years the amount is increased to Rs. 7000 and annual grant of Rs. 28,000 is given.
Candidates can also get DST Inspire Scholarship with worth of Rs. 80,000 per annum. The scholarship is given on the basis of Skill test conducted every year.

Eligibility criteria for:
Kvpy SA stream: Candidates must have an aggregate 75% (65% for SC/ST/PWD) in Maths and Science subjects in 10th Board Exam.

Dear applicant, yes a state Board student can also appear in KVPY Examination which is classified as KVPY SA and KVPY SX Exam. The Eligibility criteria of KVPY SA exam is that aggregate 75% (65% for SC/ST/PWD) in Maths and Science subjects in 10th Board Exams 2021 and is for students enrolled in class 11 and KVPY SX has the eligibility criteria Aggregate 75% (65% for SC/ST/PWD) in Maths and Science subjects in class 10th Exam 2021 and is for students enrolled in class 12. So yes in the both the cases if you are from State board you can apply.
