For Class 12th, the CBSE repeat theory exam will be conducted on a single day, and students can appear for only one subject in this attempt. For CBSE Class 10 students, they will be allowed to appear in up to two subjects which is either to clear their papers or to enhance their performance.The CBSE repeat exam 2025 date sheet PDF will be released in June 2025 on the official CBSE website - cbse.gov.in. Students are advised to keep checking the website for latest updates and announcements regarding the repeat exams.
The overall CBSE class 12th Maths exam 2026 can be considered balanced and moderately difficult. Students with a clear conceptual understanding and regular practice of NCERT and exemplar problems would have found the paper manageable. The question paper was a fair mix of knowledge, application, and analytical questions, reflecting the ongoing shift towards competency-based assessment in school education.
The CBSE Class 10 repeat theory exam 2025 can be attempted by:
Those who have failed in one or up to two subjects in the annual CBSE 10th results.
Those who have passed but wish to improve their scores in one or two subjects.
Candidates must have appeared in the CBSE Class 10 exams held earlier in the year.
The CBSE Class 12 repeat theory exam will be held on a single day, and students should prepare accordingly. The eligibility criteria to appear for CBSE Class 12 repeat theory exam 2025 is as follows:
Students who have failed in only one subject in the annual CBSE Class 12 board results.
Students who have passed the subject but want to improve their marks can also apply.
Only one subject is allowed for re-appearance as per CBSE rules for Class 12.
Students who have passed the CBSE Board practical 2025 exam but failed in the theory need not reappear for the practical exam again. They are only required to reappear in the theory paper of that subject during the CBSE 2025 repeat board exam. The practical marks will be carried forward as it is.
Conversely, if a student has passed the theory but failed in the practicals, they will need to reappear for both the theory and practical exams. This is important to ensure that the candidate meets the overall passing criteria set by CBSE.
Students enrolled in CBSE-affiliated schools who wish to appear in CBSE Class 10 repeat board exams or CBSE Class 12 repeat board exams can go through the tentative CBSE supplementary 2025 date sheet given below. The official dates will be updated once announced by the board:
