For Class 12th, the CBSE repeat theory exam will be conducted on a single day, and students can appear for only one subject in this attempt. For CBSE Class 10 students, they will be allowed to appear in up to two subjects which is either to clear their papers or to enhance their performance.The CBSE repeat exam 2025 date sheet PDF will be released in June 2025 on the official CBSE website - cbse.gov.in. Students are advised to keep checking the website for latest updates and announcements regarding the repeat exams.

Who Can Appear in CBSE 10th Repeat Theory Exam 2025?

The CBSE Class 10 repeat theory exam 2025 can be attempted by:

  • Those who have failed in one or up to two subjects in the annual CBSE 10th results.

  • Those who have passed but wish to improve their scores in one or two subjects.

  • Candidates must have appeared in the CBSE Class 10 exams held earlier in the year.

Who Can Appear in CBSE 12th Repeat Theory Exam 2025?

The CBSE Class 12 repeat theory exam will be held on a single day, and students should prepare accordingly. The eligibility criteria to appear for CBSE Class 12 repeat theory exam 2025 is as follows:

  • Students who have failed in only one subject in the annual CBSE Class 12 board results.

  • Students who have passed the subject but want to improve their marks can also apply.

  • Only one subject is allowed for re-appearance as per CBSE rules for Class 12.

Details About CBSE Repeat Theory and Practical Exams: Does One Need to Appear in Both?

  • Students who have passed the CBSE Board practical exam but failed in the theory need not reappear for the practical exam again. They are only required to reappear in the theory paper of that subject during the CBSE 2025 repeat board exam. The practical marks will be carried forward as it is.

  • Conversely, if a student has passed the theory but failed in the practicals, they will need to reappear for both the theory and practical exams. This is important to ensure that the candidate meets the overall passing criteria set by CBSE.

SASTRA University commonly provides concessions and scholarships based on merit in class 12 board exams and JEE Main purposes with regard to board merit you need above 95% in PCM (or on aggregate) to get bigger concessions, usually if you scored 90% and above you may get partial concessions. I suppose the exact cut offs may change yearly on application rates too.

CBSE generally forwards the marksheet for the supplementary exam to the correspondence address as identified in the supplementary exam application form. It is not sent to the address indicated in the main exam form. Addresses that differ will use the supplementary exam address.

To find Class 12 Arts board papers, go to the official website of your education board, then click on the Sample Papers, Previous Years Question Papers(PYQ) or Model Papers section, and select the Arts stream. You will find papers for the various academic year. You can then select the year of which you want to solve and do your practice. There are many other educational websites that post pyqs on their website you can also visit that.
