The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the CBSE 10th and 12th result on May 13, 2025. The CBSE marksheet includes candidates’ Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) and grade, however, it does not include their percentage. Hence, after the announcement of the CBSE result, students often look for ways to calculate their CBSE percentage. In this article, we have provided ways through which they can calculate their CBSE percentage.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponed the CBSE Class 12 board exams 2026 in the Middle East countries from March 12 to 16.
To calculate the CBSE 10, 12th percentage, students will have to multiply their overall CGPA by 9.5. For example:
If the candidates’ grade points for all six subjects are: 9, 8, 9, 9, 7 and 5 (in case of class 12), then they will have to choose the best of the five subjects
Then, they must add the grade points: 9+8+9+9+7 = 42
Divide it by 5, i.e., 42/5 = 8.4
The CGPA of the best of 5 will be 8.4.
To convert it into a percentage, they must multiply the overall CGPA by 9.5 (8.4 x 9.5).
Hence, the overall CBSE percentage will be 79.80%.
The Central Board of Secondary Education follows a 9-point grading system. Below, we have provided CBSE 10th, 12th grading system for students' reference.
