In Order to prepare for any PCM based Exam, first you have to study the basic books of Physics, chemistry and Mathematics. The basic book is NCERT. First, go through the NCERT, solve it's problem then go for some higher level books like HC Verma for Physics and others.

Unfortunately you are not eligible for KVPY because you are first year of your Engineering course and engineering students are not allowed to sit for any stream of KVPY.

Yes, you can write KVPY exam next year while studying your 11th standard. According to KVPY eligibility criteria , candidate who are studying 11,12, first of UG courses in basic science are eligible for KVPY SA, SB & SX respectively.
