NMMSE OMR checks whether a mark (e.g. pencil, pen fill) exists in certain zones. The NMMS OMR sheet is the Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) answer sheet used by candidates for the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMS) Examination. This is a national-level scholarship exam conducted for students of Class VIII in India. The OMR sheet is used to record answers for both parts of the exam: the Mental Ability Test (MAT) and the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). The NMMS OMR sheet will have space for answering 180 questions.

NMMS/ NMMSE is a scholarship exam in India for students of Class 8 to get financial aid. The NMMS exam uses multiple choice questions (MCQs), and students mark their answers on an OMR sheet. Several states upload sample/model OMR sheets for practice.

The NMMS OMR sheet is a single sheet of paper (often with a carbon copy for the candidate) where students must fill in their personal details and their answers by darkening corresponding bubbles. Check more details below.
The NMMS OMR sheet captures not just answers (A, B, C, D etc.) but also student identification details (name, exam number, school, district etc.). Students must fill in and bubble the correct digits/codes for:

Roll Number: The unique exam roll number.
Test Booklet Code/Set Code: The specific alphabet or number code printed on the question paper booklet (e.g., A, B, C, D). This is one of the most important fields.
State Code, Centre Code, School Code (or similar identifying fields as per the state's format).
Candidate's Name, Father's Name, Date of Birth.
Category: (General, SC, ST, OBC, PWD, etc.)
Signature of the Candidate and Invigilator.
The NMMS exam consists of 180 questions (90 for MAT and 90 for SAT). The NMMS OMR sheet will have columns/sections for:

MAT (Mental Ability Test): Usually questions 1–90.
SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test): Usually questions 91–180.
For each question, there will be four bubbles (A, B, C, D or 1, 2, 3, 4) to mark the chosen answer.

The improper filling can lead to NMMS OMR sheet being rejected by the scanning machine, so follow these rules strictly:
Pen Only: Use a Blue or Black Ballpoint Pen only. The use of a pencil is strictly prohibited.
Complete Darkening: The circle must be darkened completely and properly. Do not use half-marks, 'tick' marks, or small dots.
One Response: Darken only one circle per question. Marking more than one circle for a single question will be treated as a wrong answer.
No Stray Marks: Do not fold, crumple, or make any unnecessary marks on the OMR sheet, especially near the edges or the barcode.
No Negative Marking: Since there is no negative marking in the NMMS exam, it is highly recommended to attempt all 180 questions.
