School hours may differ for various boards and schools. For every child these hours may not be as fruitful in retaining what has been taught. And also for others, it is beneficial to go back and revisit the chapters and concepts taught.

Allot Enough Time For Each Subject

There will be a time schedule for schools. Based on the subjects taught during the day at school students can make a study timetable at home such that it covers the subject taught in the class. Based on the difficulty level of the subject you can allot the duration of your prep for that subject. It may be 20 minutes for one subject and 45 minutes for another and maybe 1 hour for the third subject.Homework can also be included in this study timetable as the homework is given to brush up what is taught in the class. A perfect timetable for a student is nothing but studying every day covering all the subjects taught in class.

Take Notes While Preparing At Home

Another important thing is to make short notes while studying at home. This will help in revision during exams. Short notes can be written in your notebooks. Important formulas and the points that need regular revisions can be on a chart stuck on your wall or in a pocket diary that can be carried easily and read anywhere at any time.

Study At A Set Time, At Comfortable And Consistent Place

Allot a duration of time which is meant for study. Say from 7 to 10 pm. Short intervals in between are required. This set duration should be given for preparation; avoid all other distractions during these hours. The time mentioned above may vary for students. For some students it may be four hours or may be a few hours at night and for a few others, early in the morning. Allotting some time in the morning for quick revision is preferable.

Find a calm place that does not distract you is important for your studies. Your study place should be a comfortable one that does not disturb you physically and mentally. Plan a time that does give you a suitable environment with less distraction without affecting your sleep schedule.

Schedule Time For Revision

Brushing up what you have learned is important to keep it in long term memory. So allow time for revision at least on weekends. Weekends can be planned for practicing more. Preferably during the first half of the day. Proper time should be given for revision and the short notes can help you do this.

Revision should also include practicing questions and quizzes. Also you may be given more work from school for weekends slot time for that as well. Weekends should be planned such that to learn what is studied in this week and for revising the topics studied till now. Also have a rough look at what will be learned in the coming week.

Find Time To Fill Gap Of Missed Schedule

Some days you may have physical issues or may have other commitments. This should not affect your daily study. Find time to cover the missed topics as early as possible. Plan that such missed topics will be covered before next week. That is how weekends can be utilized for this.

Take Proper Intervals

To keep active during the study hours it is important to take proper intervals. A short break after a subject or two subjects can be taken. The time to take an interval depends on how much duration you can be active. During the interval just walk around or chat with parents.
